premise {summarized on page 16} is a fat loser who's good at tabletop gaming gets sucked into a surreal D&D world, where things are kinda stylized and the game rules are explicit, kinda like magic, rather than just being a reflection of reality.

really great writing. I'm biased, but I get a kick out of every single update, unlike many other webcomics. I even enjoy the text updates. {there were some side-stories and back-stories that were mostly text. unfortunately book 3 seems to have a lot more text updates than previously.}

I like how the hyopthetical zealous and literal adherence to a no-kill policy concocted by superhero fans actually has the hero commit even worse crimes than murder. Let's be honest, chopping off someone's limbs and making them live without them is worse than death. To live entirely by the assistance of other people for every little task is a daily and omnipresent torture. You can't support yourself. You can't feed yourself, or clean yourself. Were batman to follow your literal no-kill thing he would be an incredibly horrible human being, way worse than if he was simply a killer. How depraved would you have to be to force someone to live like that for the rest of their life. The joker deserves death, just fucking kill him. But don't descend below his level with fucked up shit like that.

I liked it, honestly.
Final fight was schlocky in the best way.

Unfortunately, their marketing department consists of unpaid interns. This is literally the highest quality gif they've posted on twitter, and it's complete shit. Most of them are far, far worse. They usually have the characters standing still while text flies around the image.
