If you're expecting "art for art's sake" in MARVEL, then you are dumb.

I don't think that any form of fiction should operate in a vacuum, ignoring the world. It just has to be intelligent and interesting.

One of my favorite comics of all time (Ex Machina) is heavy on politics. One of the best current comics (Deathstroke) isn't ashamed to talk about politics or social issues. Half of Will Eisner's works talked about antisemitism.

Dictating what "art" or fiction should or shouldn't do is idiotic.

It's set in a world of monsters and the first 'general admittance' school in it (I'm guessing the races kept to their separate schools or only the elite got education)

The protag Kazu and his friend Nemo create a Frankenstein girl for a school project. She becomes a new student and responsibility for Kazu. There's a lot of crazy arcs that happen to them revolving around the school. From science clubs that want to steal brains to Rugby with demon eggs.

It's pretty easy reading and good humour. Solid art and cute characters help too.

I do, but I also prefer Dick Grayson/Nightwing/Robin over Bruce Wayne/Batman. Damian was an unrelenting, arrogant punk. Usually I hate that character type, but something about Damian worked with me. Probably the scene where he enters into the padded cell with The Joker armed with a crowbar cemented my adoration for Damian. Kid had guts. Not the brightest little shit, but he had guts.

I like him as written by Tomasi and Percy.

He's just in limbo since the book ended. The only new 52 Teen Titans members who are not benched are Raven, Beast Boy, Tanya Spears Power Girl, and sort of Tim Drake.
