ErfWorld

premise {summarized on page 16} is a fat loser who's good at tabletop gaming gets sucked into a surreal D&D world, where things are kinda stylized and the game rules are explicit, kinda like magic, rather than just being a reflection of reality.

really great writing. I'm biased, but I get a kick out of every single update, unlike many other webcomics. I even enjoy the text updates. {there were some side-stories and back-stories that were mostly text. unfortunately book 3 seems to have a lot more text updates than previously.}

here's a page with the favorite artist, who worked on book 2 and now back again for book 3. {art's a little simple for book 1, and really terrible for the start of book 3}

Also adding to the list: The Fires of Askell and Orks the Voice of Arms. Frenchies make some good fantasy comics in general.

I warn you though, at least four of the comics mentioned were cancelled before their time because god hates fantasy comics. I will leave you to discover which yourself so you can suffer the pain as I have.

Fantasy as in anything magical or different from norm?
Or Fantasy as in the usual Elves and Dwarves and Dragon kind of setting?

Either way can never go wrong with Storyteller.
There's been a series for Witch Stories, Dragon Stories, and they're in the middle of Giant stories.

While you're waiting for more Orc Stain, why not give waiting for more Witch Doctor a try.

A supernatural/horror urban fantasy about a Doctor who fights things like demonic possession or faeries.
But he doesn't settle for that "It's magic I ain't gotta explain shit" biz. He's a real doctor who studies these beasts and tries to battle them like a doctor battling a Cthulhu size version of the rhino virus.

- Conan. Both the classic runs and the new ones are pretty great, classic is a bit convoluted and the language is, even into the 90s minis very silver age-y. if you can't handle that, check the newer ones by Dark Horse. for both you have to google for some reading orders I guess. (check archives, libgen, other sites like emp-dcp)
- that Hobbit comic by David Wenzel is fucking beautiful (libgen search field)
- Orc Stain, sadly not finished (libgen, emp-dcp)
- Voorbij de Steen (I read it in German as "Jenseits des Steins"), 4 parts, not translated into English yet and probably never will, also unfinished as far as I know (I only read part 1-3 so far) (libgen search field only)
- The whole Lanfeust/Trolls of Troy skedaddle
(got a pastebin right here: http://pastebin.com/npFTe74C )
- Angor (first English part just got scanlated or ripped or something, check last week's win-o)
- Superman: Kal (libgen)
- Wolfskin and Wolfskin: Hundredth Dream by Warren Ellis (libgen)
- the Solomon Kane comics (libgen but also in a few recent win-O's)
- Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser (drawn by Mignola I think) (libgen only)

- Do not, and I mean DO NOT touch the Amethyst comics from the 80s. They are so fucked up in a bad way it's unbelievable.

The webcomic Table Titans, while technically not all fantasy, is about players in fantasy worlds, and the world building is done literally by the players so I'd say it's a pretty good read for what little is there.

Updates also seem to be consistent now that their kickstarter is done.

There's Hero Quest, made by OolongEarlGrey. It's pretty good so far. There's 96 pages as of this post, and he updates roughly every month, usually around the middle of the month or near the end of it, and with an average of 3 or more pages of varying length per update. The largest amount of pages he's uploaded so far has been six pages at once as of January 12th.

It's pretty gud.

He's kinda shilling, but knowing the ballpark figure of how often someone updates their shit is nice.

It's nice that Oolong finally got his comic off the ground after building it up on the conceptual level over the years. It's gonna be torture waiting for Succubus' first actual, undisguised appearance in the comic, though. I've probably grown too used to him drawing her either for answering asks, doodling her whenever the mood to doodle strikes, or when people ask him for commissions of her.

Quelle surprise
>>
>>89903272
It's kinda paint by numbers in terms of plot, but it's also got some serious tongue in cheek humor that isn't afraid to call people out on the ridiculousness of the RPG-based combat/magic/plot and what have you.

Basically, average joe shopkeep lackey unintentionally becomes the Hero destined to save the land from darkness. Problem is, he kind of really doesn't want to. He's accompanied by overly-dramatic magic swordswoman, generally referred to as Player 2, and recently gained a new ally in the form of the cheerful, if somewhat clumsy Healer, named Anri.

There's more party members planned to be added, and the plot's apparently gonna go places. Oolong's got... shitloads of chapters already planned out already.

Nigger, if you ever actually looked through his Tumblr, you'd know there's tons of shit underneath the surface. Detailed backstories, lore yet to be explored, things being less black and white than they initially appear, and of course, waifuable ladies for days.

True, it's not there YET, but it's gonna be a ride getting there.
