will we ever see a decline of the franchise system? if yes, how

bump
>>1815029
Not anytime soon I don't think. There would have to be a major economic collapse never experienced before.
>>1815080
economic collapse is a possibility, but are there any other factors that might lead to it? like growing support for small and/or local businesses, or the lack of profitability from franchises, etc.
I would like to ask you guys whether you know more about Banking in the former eastern bloc. And how it was compared to the banking system in the Western world.
anyone?
I know it might not be the most interesting thing in the world

I can tell you from the perspective of an individual but keep in mind this was still an analog age:
1a. every surplus after bills/food/entertainment goes into foreign currency paper obtained on the black market (official exchange rate wasn't real)
1b. every larger purchase is done as far away from home as possible and paid in multiple cheques; many of those get lost along the way, never reaching your bank; regardless, after 2 or 3 months inflation eats them into trivial costs whereas glorious people's economy paycheck gets regularly adjusted for inflation
2. GOTO 1 ELSE 3
3. after enough has accumulated buy land off someone directly in foreign currency
4. pay for everything but the permit to build the house in foreign currency
5. GOTO 1 ELSE 6
6. communism collapses
7. you now have x houses loaded with stuff you got for cheap
8. rent x-1 houses, get money and talk shit about communism

Thanks for your insights, wow
Can you make a living with art and writing fiction?
I'm willing to put 1 year in before a dime rolls in.
What are my chances?
>>1814981
Yes, you can. Plenty of people have done it before. I don't know the odds but if you're good and persistent I don't see why you can't do it.
It depends on how good you are at both, to be frank, as well as how well you market what you make.
I hate to pull an /ic/, but post your work.
>>1815122
I'm just starting out.
Maybe I have to push the time frame to 2 years.

Phone fags don't have this problem
Hello /biz/,
do you try to save money when buying electronics, like PC peripherals? I want to buy headphones and a mouse cheap, maybe phone later, but they can't be of the shittiest quality. I googled prices in online shops and asked for recommendations, but then I thought "everybody does that". So there should be some better way, right? I'm not from US, I'm in Poland, but I hope I will find some useful advice anyway. Thanks,
OP
>do you try to save money when buying electronics, like PC peripherals?
Nope.
Just find something with good reviews on Amazon.
>>1814796
Depends.
If it's something like a PC components I always buy new. If it's a tv, I always buy used/referbished.
So now that bitcoin has beaten the previous all time high of $1,165.89 set on 30th November, 2013, lets take a moment to reflect.

Official song of the event: All Time Low
Would it be a good idea to transfer all my altcoins to bitcoin if it does go to the moon?
I thought I did extremely well on the AUD section of the CPA exam and just found out that I got a 67. Now the soonest I'll get my scores on the retake is August 16.
anyone else get their CPA exam scores today? I feel like killing myself. What's worse is that I'm taking the year off to study/pass this exam so it's not like I had work to distract me. After I take REG in april I'll probably have to try to find work because it looks pretty bad to not have any experience for a year.
at least I passed FAR and BEC already.

What study course are you using I'm thinking about doing Becker but I don't work at a firm so it will cost me 3400.

Is it possible to be successful f you don't have good social skills?
It's possible I guess, but extremely unlikely. If you need to be asking that question on 4chan the answer is probably no.
>>1814680
You know, this is a good question.
I wonder this myself.
I can be sociable for small amounts of time before I'm done with the person entirely.
People are too emotional and difficult to operate.
I've begun to get better at it, but I still prefer to be alone.
I think it's necessary to have good social skills if you want to make it anywhere, because you have to use people to climb various ladders. If you're completely and utterly socially inept, then you will be incapable of success.
You need to learn what makes people tick, and you need to learn what causes emotional triggers.
Humans are undoubtedly emotional creatures, and you need to be aware of these emotions.
From what I've learned, humans get offended very easily, and the best step is to be as accommodating as possible without being patronizing or condescending.
You need to diversify your bonds nigga
Bondage?
Nah you keep it.

This is real fucking life
I want to start a tech non-profit organization. Does anyone know where to look for funding? Can I look at the same places I would otherwise look i.e. incubators?
Pic not related.
How about doing something actually useful for society by providing a service or good that people care so much about they are willing to give up their hard earned cash for it? Dirty fuckin commie
Hey /biz/ so I know it's getting old but I'm a college student and want to buy phones from Craigslist, fixing them, and reselling them on ebay/swaps. Any ideas?

Former professional IT reporting in (Before I quit and became an online marketer)
I looked into this years back, was very little money to be made. Every kid thats opened a PC thinks theyre god techs and offer services of any type for 20 bucks
maybe things changed, but I doubt it.
How true is this?

>>1814239
Not true at all.
When people become entrepreneurs, what the fuck do they mean? How do people just start 'business ventures' These videos are littered among youtube like you can just start a business in two minutes.
How the fuck do people JUST do it, and how much capital does it take.
IDGI
Hardly any capital.
Just find customers and offer them a service. For example dick sucking
Once you suck ten dicks you invest in a pair of kneepads

What is the price of a human soul?
>>1814203
philipines u can get for under $8k
The most probable price which a soul should bring in a competitive and open market under all conditions requisite to a fair sale, the buyer and seller each acting prudently and knowledgeably, and assuming the price is not affected by undue stimulus. Implicit in this definition is the consummation of a sale as of a specified date and the passing of title from seller to buyer under conditions whereby:
>Buyer and seller are typically motivated;
>Both parties are well informed or well advised, and acting in what they consider their own best interests;
>A reasonable time is allowed for exposure in the open market;
>Payment is made in terms of cash in U.S. dollars or in terms of financial arrangements comparable thereto; and
>The price represents the normal consideration for the soul sold unaffected by special or creative financing or sales concessions granted by anyone associated with the sale.
