Backed up by 155 Attack and priority in Aqua Jet, i could see a Rock Polish set being very intimidating. If it is allowed to set up, it can tear teams a new asshole.

Despite this, its base speed is quite low, meaning that it NEEDS the setup, and it is stopped dead by Ferrothorn

Duggy Stall needs Sash to revenge kill, but it's already one of the most popular items, so Stall has a solid answer to it. Toxapex, too.

First impression is that it'll stay OU, IMO.

Dugtrio takes care of it. Even if it has Sucker Punch, you still outspeed it with your own SP.

Grass was a toss-up, but I went with an oldie but a goodie.

Torchic versus Cyndaquil is a very important debate. I chose Torchic because I think Blaziken is more interesting. Typhlosion deserves all the love it gets, though.

Piplup is pretty much the top for Water starters, but Froakie and Oshawott are good too. Water starters are the most middling of all, imo, but that's not a bad thing.

They all have strengths and appeals. They all really do have great designs, and complaints on this or that are just because some fans are getting older, and thus being more critical to designs they'd have happily lapped up even a short while ago. Even the "worst" starters are only the worst to YOU and the ones you dislike still have a big fandom - far moreso than you want to admit.

Honestly, they all rock.
