Fire starters aren't bad, it's just that Grass/Water starters tend to be better.

Cyndaquil > Litten > Charmander = Torchic > Tepig > Chimchar >= Fennekin

while I do like incineroar, I honestly feel it's the weakest design of all fire starters, I'd swap him with chimchar.

Followed closely by Charizard and Typhlosion. Delphox is fourth, I would suppose. The others just don't register to me.

I like Charmander, Chimchar and Litten, but other starters are pretty much ruined by their evolution forms. I used to like Torchic, Tepig and Fennekin but not anymore. I dislike Cyndiquil's design however.

I think Incineroar don't really ruin Litten that much.

I personally really like Incineroar. It's the concept of a heel wrestler pokemon that really gets to me even though designwise it isn't particularly outstanding and there's the obvious complaint of being another bipedal "humanoid" starter.

I find Charmander really cute. Especially its smile. It was my first partner in Mystery Dungeon, and I thought his reactions to everything were the cutest. I like cats, and Litten is a pretty good one, so I found it really cute too.

Quilava > Charmeleon > Combusken = Monferno > Braixen > Pignite = Torracat

The middle stages are pretty weak of most of these. I love Quilava though. It's the perfect evolution to Cyndaquil. It fixes all the little problems I had with Cyndaquil, like the eyes and useless arms. I used to hate Charmeleon, but I've grown to like it more. I used to think it looked out of place in the line. But once I got used to the color, it started seeming like the perfect bridge between Charmander and Zard, and I liked how its design looked a lot more suited for fighting than Charmander. It gave an actual feeling of evolution, like Quilava. I might be a bit biased towards Combusken, because it was one of the first few Pokemon I ever saw, and I don't like Monferno. It looks completely out of place in the line, even more than Combusken. Braixen is just eh, and Pignite is just bad. Torracat is where I started seeing the Litten line go wrong, so I dislike it.Especially the legs. I hate the shape, and I hate the red color on them, while its body is black. Its face is also pretty bad.

Honestly, the final forms are where the gap between them becomes apparent to me.

Zard is something I like, a good looking dragon. I like the color scheme, it's simple, not too intimidating, or too goofy. I like the overall shape. With the combination of the shape and color, it can look cool, cute or just beautiful depending on the situation. There's also something about the shape of its head I really like. It kind of resembles the head of a Chinese dragon, but in a European style, if that makes sense. I like that, a lot.

Infernape is great too. I think it could've stood to be a bit more "muscly". Its limbs look too slim, and if you look at it for a while, the shirt thing really starts to stand out. But those are really minor things, and I still consider Infernape to be a top tier design.

Blaziken is also great, but I just really dislike its hair. I think it could've been handled a lot better. Look at Mega Blaziken's hair. That is so much better than normal Blaziken's. Other than that, I have no real problem with it, and think it's a pretty good looking Pokemon otherwise.

This is where a huge power gap comes in. I overall loved the ones up until now, and only had minor nitpicks, but everything after that is something I would avoid using.

Emboar is kind of just eh. I really dislike the pattern on its belly. It's too big and overbearing, and it looks like it can barely move, which is one thing I dislike in general. I think I like its big arms, but in front of the problems I have with it, it's not much.

I just can't like Typhlosion. It's not that "it just gets bigger", rather, it is LITERALLY just a fatter Quilava, with flame in a different spot. There's really nothing to like here, other than maybe the bursting flame. I just find it really boring to look at.

Incineroar was something I had really high hopes for. When the concept art was leaked, I thought a wrestler tiger was a pretty great idea. Those expectations came crashing down, hard. The flaws have become a meme at this point, so I doubt I need to mention the fingers, proportions etc. I'm just really disappointed with it. I still like the concept, though. I hope it will go through some change in the next decade or so, like Zard and Pikachu's did.

Delphox is the combination of my problems with Typhlosion and Incineroar. It looks boring as fuck, and it has a few ugly qualities. The ear hair, the color scheme, the ridiculous hair everywhere. I really dislike it. I think the yellow colored parts on it are pretty okay, but everything else is just ugly, and its overall shape is really boring. I don't like it.

Torchic is my favourite out of all fire starters.

My favorite Pokemon in general is Cyndaquil. It's the only fire starter that isn't overrated like Charizard and overly humanoid like the rest of em.
