I've lurked for quite a while in every major gaming website, reddit and Youtube comment sections about this game and the general consensus is that this is going to sell even less then Marvel vs Crapcom for many evident reason i found in people's impressions ,that i'll list here now:
>It's a fighting game .Fighting games are a niche genre that usually never sells that much unless it's a Netherrealm one.
>Arcsys games are niche even among this niche category
>Arcsys games have a bullshit DLC/expansion policy many hate and is even worse than Capcom
>It's 2D, and plenty of people in the DB community are mad about this because they wanted a budokai tenkaichi
>Many think that the change from 3D to 2D is graphical downgrade and say it's worse than Xenoverse's graphic
>The roster will be a lackluster for DB fans because it will have less then 100 characters that they have always been used to play as
>The game's servers will be abandoned after less then a week because the Xenoverse shitters hate anything harder then spamming the same buttons mindlessy and normies don't have time or patience to learn single character combos and strategies
>You cannot fly in the game
>You cannot pick transformations in the selection screen
>It was announced that it's going to be easy, so it will go in the same way of Street Fighter 5 and please no one
>There are people who are trying to boycott the game for fear of not getting a new full 3D title in case this one sells well
>Marvel Vs Capcom may be worse but it will sell and be kept alive by all the numerous payed shills and the MCU casuals that care only about the name

Thinking about getting this since it finally dropped to $30 for the sale, and I liked 2&3 quite a bit mostly for the campy b-game ass charm it had. Any anons have any opinions on it? Did it improve much past 3?
Also wondering how the co-op is, since I'd most likely be playing through it with a friend. Does it cover the full campaign, or is it like bullshit side missions?

It's more of 3 with some addition like bigger levels overall and suppressed bullets.
Don't know about coop. It would probably break the game if it's the main missions.

Cooop is the main missions with extra person. One person suppose be sniper overwatch and the other does missions.They added in xray kills for stabbings and explosiins too. I been haven a blast. The game and season pass are 45$ together i would get that it adds better guns. Base ones kinda suck

Hardware issues:
Clunky, heavy headsets that give people motion
sickness, headaches, and neck pain.
Controllers ruin the point of VR, and motion controls are possibly one of the few gaming fads more unpolished than VR.
Software issues: Most of the software boils down to a glorified tech demo. It's also buggy enough to break immersion (again, ruining the point of VR). And the library is small, and growing slower than the female population of China.
My conclusion is that if they catch on, it will be in a decade. And they'll be more in line with consoles (a new hardware version coming out every few years) than a PC.
