>Florida stays independent and peaceful, making money on tourism/ the drug trade.
> The two Dakotas join into one state and trade all their oil to bigger states in exchange for food and materials.
> The four corners states spend a lot of time fighting each other, but unify for a while if any external armies attack one of them.
>>
>>52534550
A disunited states with each state fully independent doesn't really benefit a whole lot of states.

Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island are going to unite together into a single New England nation. It'll also make a lot of overtures to New York and New Jersey to join up, which I can't think of a good reason why they wouldn't. Boston becomes the capital of New England, since New York City functions better if it doesn't have to worry about also being a national capital.

California has water issues it needs to deal with and so will, by hook or by crook, absorb Oregon and Washington. The latter two really only benefit by being a part of California, what with California by itself being the seventh-largest economy in the world. Hawaii needs to import massive amounts of food in order to survive, so it'll want to join up with California as well.

Texas could go things alone if it wanted, but I'm not sure that Oklahoma could and would probably prefer to at least be a protectorate of the Lone Star, if not join it outright.

If a game of Victoria II I once played is any indication, Arizona and New Mexico will be a war-torn Hellhole with one state constantly almost conquering the other before being pushed back and nearly conquered itself, see-sawing like some kind of eternal Korean war. Only with less Koreans and more Spanish.

Parts of western New York, upper Pennsylvania, Ohio, and lower Michigan will probably federate into one nation, possibly also including Indiana and Wisconsin. It'll certainly include Chicago, but I'm not sure if all of Illinois will want to come along for the ride.
>>
>>52535021
Oregon and Washington want nothing to do with California. Well end up forming Cascadia and pick up a good chunk of southern BC.

What is the "sweet spot" in each edition of Dungeons and Dragons, where purely martial and purely magical characters evenly matched in terms of utility? I've heard that for 3.x it's around level 5 or level 6, which is one of the reasons for Epic-6.

>I've heard that for 3.x it's around level 5 or level 6, which is one of the reasons for Epic-6.

Oh, you heard wrong, then.
E6 is about preserving a disparity between martials and arcanists *in overall power level.*
There was never a balance between martial and arcane *utility*.
4e is its own thing.
>>
>>52534393
In 5e level 5-6 is about right, though the margin between the two isn't really noticeable until later levels.

Hey /tg/,
was wondering if perhaps someone would have an advice for me.

I'd love to run a zombie RPG in a setting similar to The Walking Dead (only using the reference to the show since it is popular), but my players don't like the 'sandbox survival' idea. The best quest/goal based I've come up with was just 'extraction'/exfiltration' mission.
Get in, grab a thing and get out.
I guess what I am asking for is advice on the system that isn't too arcadey and what mission/goal would you give your players if you didn't want to go the 'sandbox/surival' route?

Pit the players against something powerful. An evil "general" who wants to conquer the country with the help of its "army", a ragtag bunch of ex-cons, outlaw bikers, and deserters. A mad scientist who created the zombie plague and who is now the leader of an army of undead. Gangs of slavers and raiders who plague survivor settlements. An invading army profits from the chaos caused by the zombies to invade a region (Mexico invading Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Cuba invading Florida. Russia invading Alaska. China invading the West Coast.).That kind of shit. Adventures range from protect the settlement, secure resources, free the slaves, ambush the convoy, deliver the message, protect the caravan, build and secure an outpost, kill the lieutenant, unmask the spy...

I only know few that would maybe work:

GURPS

But I think only GURPS is 'realistic'.

So it's been said Korea and India would be to our future what we thought Japan would be to our future back in the 80's. Unfortunately, TRPGs are basically unknown in India and the Koreans have a mysterious aversion to science fiction as a genre, so we don't get anything from them.

With that in mind, what would you put in cyberpunk India and/or Korea?

Alright /tg/, I'm working on a Fallout tabletop thing, and we've determined that it'all be set in Florida, thing is none of us know jack shit about Florida other than Disney and old Jews.

So I pose the question, if there was a fallout game set in Florida, what would you expect/want to see in it?

Well, you could go with what Tactics 2 was going to do with Florida.
Essentially a big mutant jungle full of hostile flora, thanks to a malfunctioning G.E.C.K.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gulf_Commonwealth

If you don't wanna roll with that, have a good way to traverse stretches of flat land (those savannahs and plains are boring as fuck to drive through on I-95), lots of suburbia when there isn't just grassy fields. When you get further South there's some neater stuff. The everglades could be cool, you could have a settlement that uses airboats or something. Miami could be a New-Vegas run by Cubans, or a shithole full of junkies (like today).

TLDR: Go for tourist spots, and use the neat quirks of the region. Airboats, fishing, the Everglades, wild boars (hate those guys), Publix, etc.

also, old spanish forts.

I figured work on tourist attractions and stuff, but I wanted to see if there was any local superstitions or folklore that was worth incorporating

Well, I hate to be a greedy shit and post my listing first, but it's rather quiet right now anyways.

>>GM/Player
Player.
>>System Preferred
40k RPGs, mainly Dark Heresy or Only War, but anything is fine.
>>Times Available
US Mountain time. I usually stay up pretty late and can adjust hours as needed. I should generally be very available whatever the time.
>>Method of Play
Preferably something text based with instant feedback, IE, IRC/Discord or text Roll20 but not a message forum. Not really interested in voice chat.
>>Contact Info
Discord: BlondeKnight#7550

Feel free to add me if you're even slightly interested and we can discuss details.
>>Additional Notes
I've never actually played any of these games, and have only limited RPG experience in general, playing 5e and pathfinder in fantasy grounds with my friends. They have no interest in 40k. So someone willing to deal with an absolute beginner who might be a bit slow is a must. I know that's asking a lot, but I don't have many options. I'm familiar with the lore, though.
>>
>GM/Player
GM
>System Preferred
King Arthur's Pendragon
>Times Available (with timezone!)
Generally around 4pm Saturday GMT+0
>Method of Play (Skype, IRC, roll20, etc)
roll20 for the playing, discord for voice
>Contact Info
Grimaud#5251 on discord
>Additional Notes
We are a relatively fresh group who have had two players drop out recently. Though four players is the sweet spot, five is doable. We're looking for fun guys and girls who don't mind action and courtly business while their GM figures out the finer points of this whole GM business along the way.

Game involves building a knight and his family in the county of Salisbury during the reign of King Uther, who is currently waging war against the Saxon menace. Politics is as important as displays of great bravery and valour. Hit me up for a chat and we'll see where things go.

To be accepted into the game: You must have a working microphone, show up at game time and you must be willing to play the game.
1 gold spent = 1 XP gained, you gain paltry sums of XP from defeating monsters compared to acquiring treasure.
The setting (not the same as depicted in the PDF) is Dwarf Fotressian with hippie elves, alcoholic dwarves, malevolent goblins, thieving kobolds, ambitious humans, abandoned ruins and is primarily a dungeon and wilderness crawl.

Are any of the big guys worth it on any teams? It's always bothered me, how much of a liability they are.
>>
>>52471415
There are some that are actually good, and some that, while not that amazing, are necessary for the team. Actually good ones would be Krox, BoN and arguably Ogre. Ones that are necessary for the team are all Big Guys for stunty teams.
>>
>>52471415

Most human teams like having the Ogre, most Lizardmen teams like having the Kroxigor, Nurgle usually likes having the BoN.

And Pact kinda has to take at least one out of necessity as there's not much going on for the team at first without them.

I recently got this boxed set. How do I run this? Where do I start?

There are like 10,000 locations here: which are the coolest to start an adventure in?

Is this boxed set linked to some classic adventure modules?

Well, I'm not saying they were ENTIRELY wrong - Pathfinder buffed most other damage dealers as well. They just went way overboard with it while overloading boosts and stances. ToB had like, two stances that increased your damage, and both were something like 1d3 extra. Compare that with PoW.

Is it worth dropping an assault unit, in my case asscents, in a drop pod or going for the LR for the assault ramps?

I've got 3 assault centurions and pedro kantor in a drop pod. If they drop they can flame/shoot, orbital strike, but cannot assault.

If I grab a LR then I can get the assault on the same turn. I am just afraid that they will get blown to bits if they have to sit for a turn.
