Look at this shit. How does it make you feel?
Excuse FB

The fuck is it?
6'5" and long legged here, fitting in cars sucks bad, I fit even worse than Jeremy Clarkson. I DD a Traverse and it works OK, but want a fun car for the weekends.
I like the look of the foxbody and it seems a good sweet spot for fun/cost, but have never sat in one, am expecting a let down. Quick question as I begin hunting my project car,
1. Any fun sports cars 1980-2004 that aren't murder for tall people? Assume budget of 3k before mods and beauty work, and willing to do some spending to fuck with the dashboard if the overall cabin dimensions could work.
2. Any 1968-1996 landbarges especially good for tall people? Assume same budget, less on mods and beauty shit maybe.
Ffs * manlet envy, I am envying the manlets.
Get a convertible or t-top car
Definitely a Miata. Maybe a Honda S600.
Anybody else love bench seats? They're just so damn cozy looking.
I prefer bucket seats. It's like a rigid 6'4" buff dude holding on to you as you do a squat max. You just feel secure and supported as you go around a bend, feeling every bump and contour of the road.

benches are awful

My ass loves a big soft bench seat, it's like sitting on a pillow. Buckets are good but I don't always want to be firmly gripped by my seat. Sometimes I just want a nice cruise on a couch.

Yeah it's slowing down though but it has time to speed up. Right in the path right now.
I'm at the carwash getting my car washed and wanted to get an air freshener. You guys know more about cars than I do, what is a good air freshener that smells nice?
Pic related it's 1/2 of my options.

"Automatic transmission only exists because we allow women to drive cars."
- granddad
>>17849268
I think that quote needs to be adjusted to:
"Automatic transmissions exist despite feminists attempting to stop men from doing anything useful"
cars only exist because someone was to lazy to walk
the real red pill
drifting is for the weak, we want max velocity
edgy but damn makes me wanna total the fuck out of my shitbox
When will we get a flying car?
helicopters dude.

Do I need to pass the inspection again if I buy a car from a private seller whos tags are great until April 2018 in the state of California? Or can I transfer the registration without the inspection certificate since his tags are good until next year
You're good.
I actually moved to New York from California, and we're had a hell of a time because of this problem and then some. You have to do a smog ``emission'' test within 10 days of registering your vehicle no matter what.
https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/?1dmy&urile=wcm:path:/dmv_content_en/dmv/vr/smogfaq#BM2535
>>17849367
In New York you have to do all that shit*
In California you should be fine.
>>17849166
>>17849367
Nigger is lying, you need a smog check every time you sell or buy a vehicle and the previous smog check last exactly 90 days
/o/'s thoughts on the Third gen Taurus SHO?
I think it has one of the best sounding v8's ever made. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF6nosZiCeI

>3.4L
That's not a V8, that's a V6 with two cylinders tacked on. No replacement for displacement, kiddo.
>>17849155
>no manual
into the trash it goes
it's has some common problems too but i don't remember and can't be bothered to google it.
>>17849189
you probably think of the sprockets coming loose from the camshaft.
Well my Vapemobile is acting up at the worst time. Yesterday I was on the way to Tennessee from South Carolina because of Irma and while driving through the mountains my car started to rev high but I lost the ability to accelerate fast. I think the clutch is done. All the mechanic shops are closed for the weekend and the ones that are open are saying they can't get parts until Monday. For now I'm renting a car, but when I go back I need to take my WRX with me will she make it? I don't have the luxury of waiting it out.
>>17849106
idk but get the fuck away from tn and go back to niggershitstainvilleoceanland
>>17849152
thank you for your help jimbob
Is it still driveable? my 02 wrx had a slippy clutch when i got on it but was driveable when i did drive like an ass
Why don't we use turbochargers to generate the electricity needed by the car?
We use waste exhaust gas to enhance the engine combustion efficiency, but efficiency-wise wouldn't having all electricity generated from exhaust gasses without any alternator be a better configuration?
Am I missing some gotchas?
>>17849091
>waiting for the turbo to spool up for your lights to turn on
lmao
>slight drag on the crank for constant and consistent power generation especially at idle
or
>block exhaust flow for wildly fluctuating outputs that will only block more flow as the load increases, as well as dealing with making sure the armature doesn't melt at 1200°+ or violently separate at 100k rpm

the second is extreme yet passionate
>go on a road trip with girlfriend
>take her 2011 Subaru Forester to a city 400KM away from us
>get into car
>mfw she starts it up and you can hear the sound of the cylinder on the cylinder wall
>obviously a failed piston
>check oil in car, all good
>get back in the car and tell her the engine is going to seize if it is driven
>mfw she says ill go without you then, i want to go on a trip
>mfw car is 7 days old
>mfw 240km away from home the engine seizes
>$13,000 in the drain
>mfw she is visibly pissed she didnt listen to me
>mfw was stuck 9 hours until car got towed and we got a rental

https://www.autoblog.com/2016/03/23/car-enthusiasts-shouldnt-fear-arrival-of-self-driving-vehicles/
What are your thoughts on this?
i cant wait for self driving cars, it means stacy wont be behind the wheel with her cellphone and no doubt there will still be manufacturers willing to capture the enthusiast audience
I say let the texting, phoning, eating normies buy self driving cars. As long as manual driving doesn't get outlawed.

So I'm buying a 1999 Tahoe for a pretty good price, but there's a few things wrong with it.
>They say the fuel pump is going out
I don't this this is the case since it still sprays fuel on the ground when I turn the key to let it prime. I think it's old fuel lines that needed to be replaced before the current owner screwed them up.
>They say it needs injectors
I never got an answer on why they think this, and given the possible fuel pump problem it seems unwise to try to diagnose something like that until the fuel delivery has been corrected.
>They say overdrive doesn't work
Now this they weren't too clear on if it's not shifting past 2 at all, or if just overdrive isn't working, or if it put itself into limp mode.
The advice I'm looking for right now is on the transmission, since from what I've researched it's likely not a solenoid, but may not require a whole new transmission either, especially given the fact it hasn't been driven since the first sign of problems.
>>17848969
buy a mint one instead.
>>17849010
Other than the few minor issues I stated this one is near mint. I'm going to end up doing a pretty minimal amount of cosmetic work to it, but it doesn't have the standard GM rocker panel rust, or any notable rust underneath especially given it's age.
>>17848969
If you have $400-1,000+ to get a remanufactured transmission and $500+ to get the fuel system reworked i'd say go for it. The transmission is on it's way out and 4l60e's are noctorious for this. If it has a misfire check the spark plugs/wires and distributor. I wouldn't pay more than $1,500 if it has those issues, how many miles? If you can get a reliable mechanic to look over the truck before you invest into a GM moneypit.
