My handbrake release is broken, so I have to reach under the dash to actually release it, which is a bit of a hassle.

Everyone at my work drives really expensive cars, so I usually park in first with the handbrake yanked with the force of a million suns, and my tires pointed so if I do roll, I hit the least expensive car around me.

2. well it depends. it might be leaking oil into the cylinder, the spark plug might be fucked, or the intake/exhaust valves might be toasted. I had all 3 of those issues on a $500 mitsubishi lancer I bought.

The Minis are really unreliable but I know one or two people with JCW Minis and they love them!
But Fiat isn't known for its reliability either.

The mini is questionablly better looking because it doesn't look like a smart car. But the Abarth sounds glorious.

go on Craigslist and get a beat up parts motorcycle that runs and boom instant 30-50+hp 5/6 speed package for maybe $100. Bonus if it's electric start. Hardest part would be adapting the driven sprocket but I'm sure a machine shop can whip you up one for $50 or so. Then you just need to shorten the chain with a $10 chain breaker and figure out a fuel and battery setup. Battery can just be bungee strapped somewhere and you can use a 5 gallon plastic fuel can with a small hole drilled in the top with a fuel line going inside and a $10 electric pump. then it's just mounting the engine and running the cables and you're golden

I was on limited hours at my job due to my ride situation and then someone left and I was basically forced into more hours (not that I'm complaining) They have a current setup where I catch a ride with another employee, but I also lose hours sometimes due to schedule differences. Also every civic in my area has the afforementioned rust belt curse which is also why my current base model cav isn't even worth the goddamn struggle to fix.
