>Every new Maserati will use some form of electric propulsion from 2019, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) CEO Sergio Marchionne has revealed.
>During a conference call with investors, the boss of Maserati’s parent company said the brand would now spearhead the wider group’s push to electric, which will see more than half of FCA's range use some form of electric power by 2022.
>FCA's brands, which also include Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler and Dodge, will all benefit from the new electric plan. Marchionne said Maserati will switch almost all of its investment in power trains to electric after “it completes the development of its next two models”.
>The first new electrified Maserati is predicted to arrive in 2020 and will be based on the Alfieri concept that made its debut at the Geneva motor show in 2014. The all-electric model is a two-seater sports car that will use a new platform.
>Before then, Maserati will hybridise several of its current models, with the Levante SUV model most likely to introduce a plug-in hybrid drivetrain to the range. As Maserati Europe boss Giulio Pastore told Autocar last year: “The current platform allows for hybrid. We are working on it for 2019, when we will be ready to offer hybridisation."
>Marchionne said that FCA has been hesitant to invest in electric until now due to uncertainty, stating: “We [FCA] have been reluctant to embrace that avenue until we saw clearer the path forward."
>Despite being part of its planning process, Marchionne will not head FCA during this push to electric. The 65-year-old Italian-Canadian announced that he will retire at the end of 2019.
Maserati will be fucked up. :^)
>>17642489
>let me just fuck everything up before I retire

I heard that 60% of new cars in Europe are company cars people lease through their employers
Is this true? I have never heard of this in the US
>>17642040
i guess so, my norwegian borther-in-law's car is a company lease since he spends a lot of time on the road, the company he works for pays for gas and other car related costs
I don't think so. In 2016 the US only sold 2 million more new cars than Europe. If 60% of those were leases, that's a fuck ton of leased cars on the road.
Where I live this is the case, because company cars cost a lot less in taxes for the companies and employees

Thinking about getting a 1995 Civic vx as a car alongside my first to fuck around with and learn how to tinker. I've heard they're great learning tools for how simple they are. Can anyone with experience with the car testify or is this a bad idea?
How do u fuck around with a fwd? The best starting cars to learn and tune are ( Nissan 240sx, miatas, and e36s), everyone is parting out a 240, junkyards are filled with miatas, and idk the e36 has people parting them out but they do get expensive, if u find a stock 240sx get that. If u find a modded Miata don't get that, how do u have fun with a fwd, just go in a circle around the neighborhood?
>>17641776
why cant you have fun in a fwd? Only fun benefit of rwd i can think of would be obviously drifting, but realisticly i have no place around me that i could even consider doing that in
>>17641824
Let me ask I this, how can fwd be fun?
Anyone here drive a e60? How is it?
