Why doesn't Lincoln have stand alone dealers?

Dealer laws in the US are so entrenched and difficult for automakers to navigate around that it is cost prohibitive and impossible for Ford to create its own Lincoln dealers in the US. They have to incentivize their current dealers to even improve their showrooms.

China on the other hand doesn't have this problem, and Ford can build standalone Lincoln dealerships to the standard they want.
