What the fuck is it with boomers/wannabe boomers describing old American cars as shit like "muh '76 chebby" or "muh '56 ferd"?

like what the fuck

I can't hold a conversation with these faggots without them saying some stupid shit like this.

It's not like it isn't 1902 anymore and car manufacturers have 1 car or truck. You need to be more fucking specific

Also, general boomer rage thread.

Why do you talk to these people?

It's pointless if you don't own a classic/wannabe classic car anyway
>>
you sound autistic. just ask them the model you twat
>>
It should be very easy given the context of the situation. If you're talking about pickups, a 76 Chevy is obvious, if you're talking about cars, it's 95% of the time gonna be a Monte Carlo, Camaro, or Impala, and again it should be very obvious given whatever the context is, unless people are walking up to you from out of nowhere and starting off the conversation with "my 76 Chevy" which we all know isn't happening

Wasn't Europe still on horses at that time?

>father promises to show me how to change oil for the first time
>cucks me
Oil life is at 1% and I need to change it urgently. Have the oil (mobil 1) and full synthetic.

Save the oil + filter for another day in favor of a local change? How likely am I to get cucked by an oil change if I go to Valvoline for full synthetic?

>I need to change it urgently.
it's really not that big of a deal

you can just go to a mechanic and tell them the oil and oil filter are in the passenger seat and they'll use it
>>
>>17837939
God damn OP you are retarded

all you need is a ratchet, ratchet heads for the oil drain and oil filter, a catchpan, funnel, oil and a new filter, and you're golden. catchpan goes underneath, undo oil drainage. When it's gone you take out the filter, redo o-seals provided with the filter. After that you put oil plug back in and fill your damn engine with however much it needs. turn it on and let it sit for 10 minutes and check oil levels. Add if you need to.

If you fail at this then you should seriously just sell your car and buy a good pair of shoes. even a bike might be too complicated for you.

Is there anything wrong with new model Ram trucks? I'm looking for a new full size pickup to haul a bass boat and I've looked at Dodge, Chevy, and Ford trucks and I prefer the Ram. I think they look better and I like the interior best but I've heard that Dodge vehicles can have reliability issues. Just wondering if the new ones are good. Also the Ram trucks are less expensive.

They are less expensive for a reason.

My girlfriends uncle has gone through 3 on the past 2 years. First one was replaced because it was a lemon, after being in the shop so often he got pissed and they replaced it. He then replaced that one with their new eco diesel or whatever it's called, and that's already been in the shop 3 or 4 times.

The biggest problem my brother-in-laws had with theirs was that they had to reset the transmission computer or something periodically, and both got new transmissions anyways and never had a problem afterwards. Now one has a '15 or '14 and it's been fine so far. The other brother-in-law recently traded his '10 in for a family vehicle but it was still running strong at almost 200k mi.
I wouldn't bother with anything before the 4th gen (unless it was an 80s one cuz muh hood ornament).

there's a weird noise coming from my speakers when im charging my phone playing music through an AUX cord. Is this normal or is my wiring fucked

This is normal. There is always electronic interference whenever I simultaneously charge my phone and have aux plugged in.
>>
>>17837425
Yup my last car had it increasing with rpms. It's either the alternator causing electro magnetic feedback or the transmission. Problem went away with my new cars Bluetooth connection.

Anybody have any experience importing a car? Any warnings/advice?

Import one from Japan.
They're usually really mint if you use that big japan export company that gets thrown around here quite often.
Couple weeks ago I saw a really nice one for around 6000 all inclusive.

The only problem for you is that you can only drive a 1993 one in 2018.
Also, you said you're not sorry about the 10k but still, be aware that this car is absolute minimum spec transportation and you will need to maintain it like every other car but parts will probably not cheap over in the states with all the importing of literally everything.
>>
This one for example BUT don't get the "easy".

It's a half autotragic and you want a manual. The autotragic ones full or half are complete and utter SHIT.

The engine in older Twingos is from the same family as that of the old Renault 5, which the US did get as the Le Car. The 1.4 turbo is a direct bolt-in swap for this reason.

Neither if you're trying retrofit them into reflector housings instead of projector housings.
>>
as long as they're in the correct housings either is fine, though I personally prefer HID
>>
I have the very first bi-xenon headlights ever fitted to a mass produced vehicle (C215 Mercedes CL) and they are very good. No experience with LEDs but I guess with all that newfangled technology both xenon and LED are even better than what I have.
>>17837402
Is sorta right - there are reflector xenons (Volvo had some, the W220 pre-facelift did too) but I'm guessing the reflectors are different from halogen-spec ones. Get OEM headlights only, retrofit kits a shit.
