Why did IBO nerf McGillis piloting abilities between s1 and s2? he was complemented by mika multiple times in combat. He destroyed Gali in a 1v1 with crazy accuracy and swift strikes. but in s2 he was a jobbing loser that almost got killed by a bear hugging human debris kid.

I think he stays pretty decent throughout; everyone else just gets better. Gaelio in their first 1v1 was also kind of freaking out, which is a great way to make mistakes that a calm opponent can exploit. In their last fight, McGillis himself wasn't exactly stable and he still did quite well.

it seems serviceable but nothing really grabs me to be invested in it. Even Voltron itself feels kinda just there. So I guess pretty American as far as mechas go.
