Okay but what about this. How about for the "Power Rangers cinematic universe" we get a new team of Rangers every movie, and the ending fight has them team up with the last team of rangers?

That's kind of a terrible idea. The reason why you can get away with that in the Sentai movies is because each show has a season of 50 episodes. That's 50 episodes of character growth and more than enough time for the viewer to bond with that team. When you jump straight into the movies, however, you do not have the same advantage for obvious reasons. There is no and will never be a stand alone movie for each ranger. Comparing it to the Avengers for a moment, every major character in that team has its own unique history and are strong enough characters to carry their own origin story. Even more importantly, they all have independent origin stories that you don't have to watch to understand what is happening in the Avengers movie (aside from Thor, of course, and even then that entire movie served as a backstory for Loki as a villain than it did set up Thor's role in the universe). The hypothetical Power Rangers Zeo movie has to be an origin story of how the team formed together unless it is otherwise explained as a continuation of the previous Power Ranger film. You cannot have a cinematic team up with old rangers and new rangers because you simply do not have the time. And at a storytelling angle, it really undercuts the importance of the ranger team if a better older team comes in to fight whatever giant monster they were supposed to take on originally

Well I didn't say kill him off for real. As I said, he'd be back in the 3rd movie. Maybe he doesn't actually die at all, but is near death before being saved by the White coin/Zeo Crystal/because. Besides, think of the plot potential and drama to be reaped from canonizing St. Tommy, in a manner of speaking.

A rough around the edges loner with a heart of gold, turned to the dark side, sacrificing himself for practical strangers in one last act of defiance against the forces that corrupted him. Then he seemingly rises from the dead, resurrected by fate itself to lead the charge against the forces of evil. If you're going to bring him in to steal the show, you might as well go whole hog with it.

But I'm obviously getting ahead of myself. You and I both know they'll probably go in a completely different, disappointing direction. If the sequel gets off the ground at all.

I unironically like Operation Overdrives OP. Feels good to get that out every once and a while.

I guess if you look at the villain similarities (Specter and Bazoo are gigantic entities who rule over countless planets and rule through fear, Astronema and Shima were both kidnapped when they were young and trained to be evil only to be redeemed in the end, Darkonda and Ahames are wild cards with no loyalties to anyone except themselves, Ecliptor and Booba are the noble villains who ultimately give up their lives for those they love), they're similar. Not much beyond that though.

Only thing Turbo got right were the zords. They were so proud of Malagore they reused the suit for In Space, I can see why.

Tokusatsu is really difficult to make to a movie. You need to have the actors have a lot of face time out of suit. The problem is that the rangers themselves aren't that interesting to carry the movies themselves. I do think other seasons like SPD or RPM could hold their own on a movie.

Hard to say if I agree or not. I just know I definitely didn't like either one, though I've also heard that Turbo was worse than either one.

Funny cause I think Turbo is objectively the best PR movie. All it needed was morphed action in the first act (would've been nice if the film opened with a rendition of Scorpion Rain to tie loose ends).

Eh, it's kind of hard to say. By all means, it should be the superior PR movie, but I can't bring myself to like it.

Justin's an annoying tag-along. Lerigot and his family are creepy looking and also annoying.
For an adventure movie called "Turbo", it kind of drags on until they get to the island. And for the most part it feels too similar to the original, only with a worse excuse for not morphing until the last act.

You know, I never thought about it when it was first airing, but that swap-out really was a dick move on Demetria and the old team's part.

When Jason, Zack and Trini left, they chose friends of the team that were more or less at their same skill level, and still had three veteran members plus Zordon's wisdom to lead the way.

What did the first Turbo crew do? Pick a bunch of strangers at the last second and then bounce. What did the second Turbo team have for guidance? A kid who accidentally joined a few months ago, and a mentor who spoke only in haiku and riddles. Oh, and JOI-ZEE Alpha.

It's a miracle they ran into Andros when they did or they would've been thoroughly dicked.

Because I looked at them all and it's almost DragonBall power levels bad in where their power is purely determined by who beats who and "It's because I said so". Hell, you'd think Saban would release inaccurate trading cards that stat these things like Marvel does.

As for direct power levels as a whole though out the series, it's always implied but never heavily demonstrated even in the fights.
A Megazord combination means they get to defeat some brand new monster of the day or major villain but said scope and scale of the fight never really changes much unlike other shows.
It's always the city with some buildings being toppled down at most.
They may fire a slightly bigger laser or may shoot off new missiles/lasers but you can't really estimate how much more damage the new combination can do because again, the scale never increases.

Time Force might be higher only because they are in the future. SPD however, not so much. Omega is practically Yamcha. Even in Megazord.

Super Megaforce might also be high up there because Gosei said.

I think any Ultrazord with 10+ zords is also higher too. OO and RPM

The weakest would probably be the original megazord giving how the show raises the stakes.

Honestly it just became frustrating at higher levels where games devolved into who could hold the most cheap counters and wait for the opponent to react. And honestly I think the game logic was super inconsistent in that a lot of my opponents always seemed to be able to block cancel out of getting countered but somehow I was never able to do that no matter how hard I mashed the cards.

I have no idea how long this game has been out but one of the major disappointing things for me was lack of roster completion. We had like one Zeo ranger, the only In Space ranger we had was Zhane who was kind of a let down and now we have two versions of MMPR Green Ranger, the second of which isn't even good? The box system is also seriously fucked, you often wait all that time for literally nothing and the corruption boxes were equally not worth the effort.

I didn't like how long it took to obtain legendary shards for characters, I had two leaders and one assist just sitting in my roster still when I uninstalled. green v2 wasn't too bad to me, zhane was disappointing but I did manage to win some matches with him though.

I am almost done watching the 2nd part of Turbo, and then I am going to rewatch In Space. Sucked that I missed the stream for most of it.

Also Bulk and Skull are funnier since they keep changing jobs each episode and find a way to ruin it. Justin isn't that annoying either. He really just stays in the background for most of the time.

I think that's more of him having more leeway in Japan but still can be restrained. His kid shows have at most some leg shots. He only went too far to the point of NTR in a movie for adults.

That said I doubt he'll ever return to PR, Japan not only gives him more leeway but he also works on diverse projects there, not jsut sentai.

It was going to be Cassie (PRIS Pink) and the storyline leading to Kendrix's death built up to it, but her actress butted heads with the producers and backed out, meaning they needed a replacement. Karone was the best option and it kind of worked anyway given her character development.

Her actress was diagnosed with leukemia and it wasn't certain if she was going to make it, so she was written out. She got better though, both in show and out, and is still alive today doing interior design.

The thing about nostalgiafagging as different from just nostalgia is that it never moves. Its always the first installment (or first ones, or the first popular one in some cases) and the milking is focused there and never moves on. People who did move on after said installments are actual fans thay dont need more pandering to mill them.
Ironically, two franchises where is see this being averted are super sentai and kamen rider. Not saying there wont be an in space comic but there's nothing indicating it will happen.

My local Big Lots had Zeo, Turbo, In Space and Lost Galaxy. Manage to get all of them.

My Library gives out Lightspeed Rescue, SPD, Dino Thunder, Megaforce and Dino Charge for free.

However finding MMPR is pretty difficult ironically.My Library only has DVD of Season 2.

My local Target has all the recent ones coming out and even has Sentai. Such a weird feeling having Kakuranger on a store shelf.

The "In Space" and "Lost Galaxy" run of power rangers made for a great childhood.

I actually just ordered Dino Thunder on Amazon for like $10. We did see the complete season one and two box set for MMPR at Best Buy for $27 earlier today though. I took a photo of the same set while visiting family in TN to show a friend, but it was only $20 there, so maybe I can use said photo to price match it a bit lower.

We've watched a bit of MMPR and the Turbo movie (my 4-year-old daughter saw it at a used book/video store and insisted her littler brother would like it because it was Power Rangers and had to take it home with us). On the Super Sentai side of things, we've watched Zyuranger and Kyoryuger in their entirety and are presently bouncing back and forth between Dairanger and Gokaiger as well.

I never touched tnmt aside from this crossover and one standalone movie from the early 2000s. As an "outsider" I find it notable that the turtles are always the same setup and the only time(to my knowledge) they tried to change that it was met with backlash.
Like, sure the original 6 mmpr rangers are the most popular but the other teams at least click with children and fans. I always found it peculiar.

Power Rangers managed only ¥69,966,203 in the first weekened in Japan. I had read about how it had bombed, but thought it just meant that it had gotten about average Sentai movie numbers, which would be considered low for a Hollywood production, but this is actually even lower than Sentai movies (Zyuoh vs Ninnin opened with ¥96,960,210 and that's already a low number compared to previous years).
