Why, you don't have to be a gun smith to remove the firing pin from most guns. Any milsurp will appreciate in value, I'm kind of wanting to buy a Nazi stamped K98 right now to match a pristine Nazi police bayonet I got for free but the costs are becoming to high for a gun I'll never shoot. I'm probably going to pick up a bayonet for the eddystone I inherited too.
On the same subject, does not having matching part numbers depreciate the value over time or is it still going to raise in value at the same rate just at a lower total cost? Also, if my eddystone has the guy who used it WW1's name on it does it hurt its value much? I'm never going to sell it, I just want to know

It is, but not to the extent face value might suggest. Spec is all over the place with AR10s, no standardization.
