Any lawfags in this bitch?

I need to file a suit against some people but the thing is i don't have any money and am not working atm

Any ideas on how lawyers work? Or for that matter if there are any alternatives i could use instead of having to pay for a lawyer?

This is probably better suited for /adv/. But you should look up "Contingent fee basis". It's what the lowest rung of lawyers do, but it does give access to attorneys for people who otherwise can't afford them. You essentially promise a percentage of your possible winnings or settlement (exact amount determined on the strength and magnitude of your case compared to the time and expense of pursuing it), in exchange for representation.

Or, you could try to go pro se, but that's really, really tough.

Do you realize that this is not /b/, and you should not post threads that are not related to history or humanities? What on earth would make this a relevant thread to post?

It's relevant to the board as far as my understanding goes

Is Kursk the largest single battle in human history?

Largest tank battle.
Not largest overall. Berlin and Stalingrad probably had more participants.
>>
>>2933324
The largest single tank battle was Brody (1941)
>>
This was indeed probably the largest single battle

Stalingrad was just the largest overall battle, over the years it unfolded alot of troops participated, it can be rounded up into a single battle but in reality it was a very long series of many, many battles.

We Wuz Kangz and all its versions are largely done by New World Niggers and New World Whiteys. The only ones who come to mind outside of the New World are shills for Palestine saying We Wuz Da Hebrews or that Achmeds and Tyrones have much of a claim to that.

im 1/20th irish and this songs really resonates with my irish heritage
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wvJsoEdIKk
you might not understand it because its irish

It's barely holding on from a string.
I'm just one second away from entering an animal state of mind where the whole world is just a bunch of fucking shapes, that's all, sinister shapes. Existence just becomes pure torture, torture in it's purest form and it is hell to just exist. A loss of all meaning, all life's coloring gone and brutal reason crushing my very soul removing the elements that make me a human being. I become a manic animal.
I am terrified because I'm always just a second away from fully embodying this and it is dangerous what might happen to me if this happens again.
How do I stop this? Living is hell.

What are quintessential Eternal Anglo moments in history?

Cromwell ethnically cleansing the Irish is one, everything Churchill ever did in his military career is another.

Can I get a list of all the times Britain said, "We'll help you, just do this" and then didn't help?

Not sure if this belongs on /his/, but did any of you read it?
If so what are your thoughts on it and his theory?
7 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
It's stupid and wrong.

People believe these "life-cycle" theories about civilizations and society because humans like to classify things, and because it allows us to make predictions of the future without actually doing any research. I know, because a while ago I thought it was correct too, until I came to the conclusion that the world is a complex place and that civilizations have a little more nuance than the rise-fall timeline Spengler ascribes.

There are a few small grains of truth, even unique ones in the book, but the main idea is just playing to your desire to organize things and feel smart without doing any work.
>>
A few bits and pieces are very interesting, like the theory of a civilization's mathematics shaping its worldview and subsequent expression of culture, but most of it can be proven false with modern archaeology and anthropology.
>>
It's worth reading even if the theory and some parts have it's problems, Spengler way of thinking was interesting by itself.

Assuming this isn't shitty bait, consider the maxim "power resides where people think it resides".

If enough people think a king/president/whatever is unjust, they won't follow them. It's a combination of physical power, game theory, and mass psychology.

Doesn't your university have an online database? Do you go to one of those tiny "literally who" universities that lack sources? Perhaps you didn't go to uni and decided to learn history by yourself, you can still visit a uni library near you though...unless you have no means of transportation.

Could someone explain to me again how Aristotle caused the technological stop of the middleages again? Something about him saying mathe was godly and so Christians thought it to be an insult to god to work out formulas?
Will be much appreciated as I can't find what I'm looking for on the internet, but I know it's decently well known among historians

Is this bait?

Medieval technological inventions include clocks, watermills, gothic architecture, iron ploughs, cannons, vertical windmills, a vast expansion of water-powered mechanisation, tidal mills, mechanical trip hammers, blast furnaces, stern rudders, weight driven clocks, metal rolling mills, treadle-operated vertical looms, steel span crossbows, artesian drilling, chimneys, treadmill cranes, harbour cranes, floating cranes, mast cranes, oil paints, the hourglass, the compound crank, waterpowered paper mills, the dry compass, the astronomical compass, the nocturnal, the albion and the altitudinal dial.

Oh, and the fucking printing press
>>
>>2929158
You are saying the spread of technology was faster in the dark ages than during the classical era, correct?
>>
That makes no sense. How is Aristotle responsible for the technological stop of a civilization centuries removed from his own? It's not his fault they treated him as a prophet and didn't advance scientific knowledge beyond what he had made, when he laid down the foundations for them. Did Newton stop the development of quantum physics or Copernicus and Galileo delay the discovery of the Big Bang theory?

I remember reading something about the religious symbolism in the Hundred Years' War and the english soldiers, on a battlefield in which it rained the day before, kneeling and putting mud in their mouth and praying, stuff like that, before the beginning of a battle. I'm not sure if it was actually just a post on this board. Does anyone have any more information about this? Did it really happen? Did the french also do stuff like that?

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

The 6th Amendment guarantees the right to a speedy trial. So how the hell do you hear stories about people waiting months or years for a trial?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>2928798
This just me guessing, but the 6th amendment seems to only apply to criminal prosecutions. People can be locked up for so many more reasons which would technically not fall within the scope of the 6th.

Also, try to define 'speedy'.
