Any lawfags in this bitch?
I need to file a suit against some people but the thing is i don't have any money and am not working atm
Any ideas on how lawyers work? Or for that matter if there are any alternatives i could use instead of having to pay for a lawyer?

This is probably better suited for /adv/. But you should look up "Contingent fee basis". It's what the lowest rung of lawyers do, but it does give access to attorneys for people who otherwise can't afford them. You essentially promise a percentage of your possible winnings or settlement (exact amount determined on the strength and magnitude of your case compared to the time and expense of pursuing it), in exchange for representation.
Or, you could try to go pro se, but that's really, really tough.

Do you realize that this is not /b/, and you should not post threads that are not related to history or humanities? What on earth would make this a relevant thread to post?

>This board is dedicated to the discussion of history and the other humanities such as philosophy, religion, law, classical artwork, archeology, anthropology
>law
It's relevant to the board as far as my understanding goes

I tried posting on /adv/ but didn't get anybody posting so i just deleted the thread thinking it would lead nowhere but i guess i'll give it another try
I'm in Quebec if that can help, i really have no knowledge of the justice system and apparently ours is a very fucked up one
See a lawyer. If you have serious concerns save money and see a lawyer

defamation is very hard to prove in America. What's your story?
