I remember reading something about the religious symbolism in the Hundred Years' War and the english soldiers, on a battlefield in which it rained the day before, kneeling and putting mud in their mouth and praying, stuff like that, before the beginning of a battle. I'm not sure if it was actually just a post on this board. Does anyone have any more information about this? Did it really happen? Did the french also do stuff like that?
