There's lots of written experiences of people living a horrible nightmare during WW1 and 2

Are there any sources from those who genuinely fought on the frontlines who enjoyed it?

i guess everybody "enjoyed" the first few days on the front. Then the Propaganda started wearing of and it went to shit.

It seems like everyone only talks about how Aisha married Muhammad as 6 years old but forget how badass this woman was.

Why did so many pre-Colombian languages develop such mind-bendingly complex verb morphologies?

This characteristic seems to cut across entire language families - it's not just Athabaskan languages like Navajo. I grew up in an area with a Salishan language, and even took some classes in it, but the verb structure was simply impenetrable.

The entire language ends up revolving around all these permutations of verbs. A sentence in English like "The man grabbed the tree branch with his right hand" becomes a single word that translates literally to something like "To previous-time-adult-tribe-member-manfully-right-handedly-turningly-ash-tree-part-grab." The whole word changes if the agent changes (gender, age, identity, etc.), if the type of tree changes, if the hand used to grab changes, etc.

Why did these languages evolve in this way?

Because tribalism, as opposed to non-tribalism, is a mindset that favors a plurality without common ground. This is what defines a tribe. Tribalism is about increasing the differences in psycho-emotional ways, it is through this arbitrary differentiation that tribes are separated from each other, and through which the individual is mentally concerned with being exactly like the tribe wants him to be, because what seems like a small difference is hugely amplified through this system. As I talked the other day, it is interesting for the tribe to limit the individual's logic, particularly his ability for propositional calculus, by formally destroying an easy relation between a word and its logical negation. Further on, when you let people teach you that language form is more important than a new meaning, you won't be able to think of something simple unless someone give the words to you, probably over and over, and you won't dare to invent your own words for it, something you learn in the hard tribal life.

Historians have debunked blitzkrieg and viewed it as nothing more than desperate improvisation of concentrated offense doctrine (or something, correct me if I'm wrong). If Blitzkrieg wasn't the revolutionary doctrine that changed the concept of war from WWII onward, what then? Was there any at all, however, or did anyone just improve their own from traditional WWI doctrines (with aircraft support, etc.)?

What was his problem? Was he so butthurt about Marius that he had to march into Rome just so he could be the general that fought Mithridates? Everything I've read about him makes him look like a dick. Granted Marius isn't innocent himself.

>>
>>2937376
Sulla actually didn't have a problem. See, he was legally elected consul, taking command of the consular armies in his year as consul, to fight a war...sanctioned by the Senate...in his year as consul. All 100% legal and according to the mos maiorum.

It was Marius who got butthurt because after two strokes nobody really wanted him commanding such an important venture far from home, plus Sulla was better anyway. But Marius went senile and got an insane tribune of the plebs to pass a bunch of retarded legislation basically grinding political life to a standstill and precipitating a crisis.

He then got a law through the plebeian assembly appointing himself the commander against Mithridates...against all precedent, against the mos maiorum, against Sulla's right as consul.

What choice did Sulla have? Stand down like a good boy and be forever disgraced and possibly even killed right afterward as a huge threat to this senile old fool, or march on Rome and set things right, tradition be damned? It wasn't about generalship, it was about the precedent, about the mos maiorum, about the rights of the consulate.

I'm not saying that Sulla is innocent of anything either, neither of them were, but Marius was the one with the problem.

>The Bahá'í Faith (Persian: بهائی Bahā'i) is a religion teaching the essential worth of all religions, and the unity and equality of all people.[1] Established by Bahá'u'lláh in 1863, it initially grew in the Middle East and now has between 5-7 million adherents, known as Bahá'ís, spread out into most of the world's countries and territories, with the highest concentrations in India and Iran.[2][3]
>The religion was born in Iran, where it has faced ongoing persecutions since its inception.[4] It grew from the mid-19th century Bábí religion, whose founder reinterpreted Shia Islam and said that God would soon send a prophet in the manner of Jesus or Muhammad.[5] In 1863, after being banished from his native Iran, Bahá'u'lláh announced that he was this prophet. He was further exiled, spending over a decade in the prison city of Akka in the Ottoman province of Syria, in what is now Israel. Following Bahá'u'lláh's death in 1892, leadership of the religion fell to his son `Abdu'l-Bahá (1844-1921), and later his great-grandson Shoghi Effendi (1897-1957). Bahá'ís around the world annually elect local, regional, and national Spiritual Assemblies that govern the affairs of the religion, and every five years the members of all National Spiritual Assemblies elect the Universal House of Justice, the nine-member supreme governing institution of the worldwide Bahá'í community, which sits in Haifa, Israel near the shrine of Báb.

>Bahá'í teachings are in some ways similar to other monotheistic faiths: God is considered single and all-powerful. However, Bahá'u'lláh taught that religion is orderly and progressively revealed by one God through Manifestations of God who are the founders of major world religions throughout history; Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad being the most recent in the period before the Báb and Bahá'u'lláh. As such, Bahá'ís regard the major religions as fundamentally unified in purpose, though varied in social practices and interpretations. There is a similar emphasis on the unity of all people, openly rejecting notions of racism and nationalism. At the heart of Bahá'í teachings is the goal of a unified world order that ensures the prosperity of all nations, races, creeds, and classes.[6][7]
>Letters written by Bahá'u'lláh to various individuals, including some heads of state, have been collected and canonized into a body of Bahá'í scripture that includes works by his son `Abdu'l-Bahá, and also the Báb, who is regarded as Bahá'u'lláh's forerunner. Prominent among Bahá'í literature are the Kitáb-i-Aqdas, Kitáb-i-Íqán, Some Answered Questions, and The Dawn-Breakers.

That Persian governor who destroyed Genghis Khan's trading caravan, and then killed his ambassadors who came to peacefully resolve the situation.

No one, in the entire history of humanity, has fucked up harder than that guy.

What are some examples of historical figures achieving things at an advanced age? I know the Byzantines had some fairly old generals; Narses commanded the Battle of Casilinum during the Gothic War in Italy on behalf of Justinian in 554, when he was 76.

I recall reading that at least one Byzantine general was commanding armies into his 80's, though I don't remember which.

I'm not sure what to make of this. Is this an outright approbation of pedophilia in the fucking Bible?

"17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves."

Highly unlikely. It's to be assumed that the female children will be first raised as slaves, and then married. The whole situation was event-specific and is not to be used as an example of how to behave. You're not normally supposed to kill the children of your enemies.
>>
>>2936369
Most of the women in the bible (except those who were noted for being extraordinarily old maids) would have married far below the modern age of consent anyway:

>A ketannah (literally meaning "little [one]") was any girl between the age of 3 years and that of 12 years plus one day;[78] she was subject to her father's authority and he could arrange a marriage for her without her agreement.[78] However, after reaching the age of maturity [that is, 12 years], she would have to agree to the marriage to be considered as married.
>>
>>2936430
>he thinks that's not the modern age of consent in most places

>he thinks it was 16 in the civil war U.S.
