There's lots of written experiences of people living a horrible nightmare during WW1 and 2
Are there any sources from those who genuinely fought on the frontlines who enjoyed it?

i guess everybody "enjoyed" the first few days on the front. Then the Propaganda started wearing of and it went to shit.

I think Russians at 1945 had a blast looting and raping at will. Of course you had to survive 4 years of brutal war to get to that point.
Ernst Junger's Storm of Steel seems to be the best pick. He didn't necessarily love it, but saw it overall as beneficial to ones character development.

Probably the same guys who would today find extremely dangerous hobbies such as as base jumping, flying in wing suits, and hang gliding fun today.
Storm of Steel by Ernst Jünger is probably the most famous book from WW1 that glorifies rather than laments the soldier's part in it.
