Gini coefficient close to 0.0: Everyone makes the same amount of money. Someone who spends all day every day sleeping, eating McDonald's, jacking off and playing Candy Crush makes exactly the same amount as someone who puts in 60-hour work weeks producing high-quality goods and services.
Gini coefficient close to 0.0: Very few people make most of the money. The tiny upper class lives in wealth, dining on caviar and drinking champagne from solid gold goblets, with people to suck their cocks and wipe their asses, and everyone else is essentially enslaved to them. The ultra-rich are the sons and daughters of other people who were ultra-rich, plus maybe a few people who were good enough at sucking cock and wiping ass that they were chosen to keep the gene pool fresh.
I submit to you that the most important moral question is what the Gini coefficient should be.

You mean 100
Over 40 automatically makes you 3rd world

You're right, second one should be "close to 1.0". My bad
In recent weeks /pol/acks have been brigading the board, turning almost every thread they touch into SJW vs Stromfront culture war cancer. And with summer coming up, it'll get even worse. Where are the mods?
There were never any mods.
There never will be.
Things won't get better.
You don't matter.
Stop making meta threads.

>SJW vs Stromfront culture war
>only blame /pol/, not the SJWs
fuck off to tumblr

I don't see constant SJW threads everywhere friendo. Tumblristas are retards, but they're not coming here in droves like the stormcucks.
Too bad he didn't follow his ubermensch philosophy in real life, as he slid pound after pound of apple cake down to his womanly thighs while watching Disney's Snow White in his home movie theater

Have some fucking respect, kid.

Im not sure if this belongs in /lit/ or /his/, but here we go.
Does anyone have any book(s) recommendations on explaining the stories of the old and new testaments and the historical contexts behind them? Im basically looking for a book which explains the old/new testament canon in a way that is easier to digest and understand in comparison to reading the bible straight up, similar to Edith Hamilton's "Mythology". I feel like when I read the Bible itself I am missing much historical references and context.
Just watch movie adaptations if you're too much of a retard to read you il/lit/terate faggot.
>>2939302
I'm not the OP but I'm bumping this because it's of interest to me.
>>2939364
Edith Hamilton does a fantastic job at retelling and summarizing the Greek myths, while also explaining the historical context of the stories. Certainly there must be some Christian who has done the same with the Judeo-Christian canon?

lies with psychoanalysis and history we can predict patterns in humanity and thus the future
life has some minor order and direction its not completely erratic
>>2939076
Modern historians explicitly try and stay away from teleological explanations of events, so no.
Thoughts? Is it a meme? I get the feeling that it's a meme.

It's a meme like fusion power.
It'll probably happen, but way later than anybody hyping it now it claiming (see current fusion power research despite fusion being right around the corner for almost 50 years prior. Nobody wanted to fund it.)

Depending on you you ask, that's not the goal. Most say a technological singularity is simply the point beyond which speculation on the future is not feasible due to accelerating technological returns. Others would argue that the super endgame is finding the ultimate fate of the universe and avoiding it if it's unfavorable, but such a discussion would only really mater to a post-singularity society in the first place.

Me cultural relativist faec
As someone who's actually a member of a tribe, it's really weird.
I guess westerners forget that the classical Greeks and Romans were divided into tribes.
What would battles be like if besides cavalry, armies in antiquity or middle-ages had troops in bicycles ?
in one hand it would be much cheaper than mantaining a horse, but trying to charge uphill would be almost impossible in full armor
>>2938843
>in one hand it would be much cheaper than mantaining a horse
Probably not seeing as a lot of the materials necessary for a decent bicycle would be quite difficult to acquire/manufacture at the time, not the least rubber for the tires.
The existence of rubber in medieval Europe would have a larger effect on Europe than the use of bicycle and their rubber wheels.
>>2938843
In all livelihood bycicles would be more expensive and rare than horses in the middle ages. Imagine some genius builds a few in an age before replaceable parts, and one of those parts breaks.
Bicycles weren't used as a cavalry replacement even when the two existed at the same time (18th century - early 20th) because bycicles need to be light. The key for cavalry is its ability to smash into enemy forces, and someone could knock over a bycicles knight by themselves.
Would France be able to repel German offensive in the west if they managed to extend Maginot Line across the Belgium border?

>WW2 thread #2938798
>>2938798
If Britain wasn't a bitch maybe
>>2938798
Maginot line did extend along the Belgian border if it didnt why would the Germans go thru the ardennes. The point was that ardenne was meant to be impassable for a large army and so the Maginot line was left weakest there.
Li Hongzhang thread.
We discuss how awesome he was at keeping in check the japanese in Korea for almost 30 years.
is he wearing yeezys?

Which British castle has the best fortifications and why is it Dover castle?
The pillow fort i'm posting from right now is strong AND comfy. Beat THAT
More proof, as if it was needed.
Edinburgh castle. It is built on a volcanic basalt plug, it is essentially inaccessible from all sides but one. Pictish tribes people didn't even bother with a castle when they lived on the castle rock and relied on its natural defenses for the most part.
>tfw CIA destroyed Soviet civilization
I thought it was the other way around?

"There's an old woman living in our block...As a result of all these articles nowadays, the revelations, exposes...she's gone mad. She opens her ground-floor window and shouts, 'Long live Stalin! Long live communism -- the glorious future of all Mankind!'"
Why are people studying humanities can't find jobs and aren't respected by the society?
because if you begin to understand words and human activity you cannot go on living as mindless as everyone else
