Why did the practice of boarding enemy ships to capture them (instead of just sinking them) die out? Newer warships can cost upwards of several million dollars. That would fetch a hefty prize if you captured one reasonable intact.

When World War II broke out, Rabbi Wasserman fled to Vilnius and in 1941, while on a visit to Kaunas, he was arrested by the Nazis with twelve other rabbis and sent to his death. Rabbi Wasserman was taken and murdered by Lithuanian collaborators on the 12th of Tammuz, 1941, in the Seventh Fort of Kaunas Fortress. Before he was taken he gave this statement:

Why do Indo-Aryans have more cold adapted noses than western Europeans?
Is it more of a low humidity adaptation? Western Europeans seem to consistently have a very wide nasal bridge, which is more hot/humidity adapted.

Hi /his/, I have a question for you, and I apologize in advance if it's stupid. I was wondering how in old ships they managed to stay warm? Like, if you were in a battleship and were in the Northern Atlantic, how did they manage to keep themselves warm at night. I assumed the crew mainly slept in hammocks or make-shift sleeping areas below deck, and maybe they could close portholes to stop heat from escaping, but unless they had large blankets, I assume they couldn't have fire aboard a wooden ship? Can anyone explain?

During the Hungarian–Czechoslovak War, Czechoslovak commander Josef Šnajdárek ordered 100 soldiers to camouflage themselves with soot and to wear white rags as turbans to look like Africans, ordered them to march on railway stations near the borders and to mumble random sounds and to say "Senegal".
Hungarian spies informed their army that d'Espèrey sent 6000 colonial soldiers to help Czechoslovaks. Out of the fear of "negro canibals" dozens of Hungarian soldiers drowned in rivers because they feared to get captured.

So I've dedicated my mind to some thought for a change, instead of just endlessly mulling over everyday /pol/ regurgitations, and without trying to sound pretentious, but also admitting that there are inherent differences between races - both physical and psychological in nature - I can't help but wonder whether or not what blacks refer to as "the great steal of history" has something to do with the evident cultural, moral, intellectual, etc. gap between whites and blacks we bear witness to today.
While it's safe to assume Africans would have amounted to little had colonisation not taken place, it's also safe to suggest that the events which would follow as direct consequence of colonisation shape the modern black mentality of victimisation - for one often plays the victim for the sole purpose of being recognised as a martyr. Or in non-biblical terms, of appearing as an underdog, whose achievements - no matter how moderate in scope - always make them appear greater than for what they really are due to their oppressed lifestyle etc.
When people think revolutionaries, they almost instinctively go to praise MLK, Mandela, Gandhi - not black, but a classic example of playing the victim by degrading oneself to the apparent 'inability to act' in order to garner sympathy - and even Malcolm X, the latter being an exception, although people still attribute victim status to him because of his race.
These people spring to mind both because of the perpetuated media support their characters have gotten throughout the years, but also because the notion of playing the underdog is just that more appealing to the common man.
Or, as Dylann Roof put it:
