In addition there's also plenty of Chinese who rose to very high ranks in the Mongol Empire & Successor states. Subutai, and later on Hulagu's enforcer was the brilliant general Guo Kan, an ethnic Chinese officer who was made Governor of Baghdad. During the Mongol conquest of the Song Dynasty it was 1/2 Foreign invasion and 1/2 Chinese civil war, with Chinese subjects leading the fight in mountainous and riverine Southern China. The final victory of Khubilai Khan versus the Song Dynasty was led by admiral Zhang Hongfan.

So I'm trying to do some research on the Mac an Ghabhann (Smith, McGowen) Clan of Ireland. I've learned they're a military clan out of County Cavan, but I can't find any sources of battles or any sort of personal clan history apart from the history of the surname. Does anyone have or know of any sources I could use in my efforts?

Why do people hate the concept of white privilege or in any other respective country, majority privilege? You don't have the choice of where you're born. If you're born as a black, mexican, Jew, asian, arab, Native American,, in a country in the western world like the US or Sweden. You didn't have the choice of being born there and likely have no more money than anybody else to move back to your country of origin. So, yes, the people who are born in a country they aren't part of the majority in are usually less privileged than the majority, why do people fail to grasp this concept?
