Current state of windows
>>58662030
It really makes you think, no one is able to make anything even close to what amateurs on the internet design, every single OS is incredibly flawed in some way or another.
Too much fragmentation in linux, unnecessary amount of distros, why no one is doing a consumer paid distro?
Windows is a mess, either they start from scartch or just don't even consider it.
Mac is the best looking and rounded product, but most people say they also have flaws that make you drop it, specially considering the hardware price.
Why no one is able to create a solution? Just put a price tag, I'll gladly paid to avoid every othe option.
>>58662168
Only a handful of distros are actually respectable products, the rest is just some hobby products made by autists for autists.

Windows 10 "lifetime" support ends in 2015.
Let's see what OS Microsoft comes up with now. I'm happy with my Linux/FreeBSD dualboot.

Not even, Rolex is mid-level luxury at best.
At best new-money trash, but most likely just a nigger burying themselves in an economic hole to try and impress their friends.
Does anyone know why I can't install radeon 17 driver on my hd 7770?
I get notified that is the latest driver for my graphic card (same on amd homepage), but whenever I try to install it says that I am already up to date.
just do a fucking clean install then.

Is there seriously nothing worth conversating in /g/? Seriously. Every thread i lurk or create is just filled with the same circlejerk-kneejerk comments with spaces filled with meaningless fallacies that further divert the conversation from its origin.
The daily threads are pretty much the only thing where things stay even semi-concise, but that goes against the idea of this imageboard.
Am i in the wrong place? Is this just another slightly opinionated /b/?

Neo/g/ consists of trolling for (you)s and people not following the rules. Used to be a tech support question would be pruned within 1 or 2 responses. Now I see some with 25+.

:= means "defined as"

Obviously everything is immutable and stateless.
Unicode is allowed, and you can only use a notebook (similar to Mathematica's notebook) to write the code in.
Functions apply objects from left to right (x)F.
Definition of functions is done through mappings like Haskell, F: Nat -> Com
Lazy evaluation so we can deal with "infinite" data
Haskell's list comprehensions.
The code ought to look like mathematics.

If ur not a gaymur then its probably good for the price. Dont expect some serious performance, but it will be good for Excel and common tasks.
I Will probably buy something similar for school.

Why is it that "enthusiasts" are mainly fags with no actual interest in the topic? Just in the latest and greatest marketing terms and bar graphs? /g/ can tell you all about how many volts the latest CPUs use, and how a PSU with low voltage fluctuations in important for overclocking, yadda yadda.
And STILL I bet half of you literally doesn't even know what "volt" is. Like what does volt actually measure? What is the physical difference between volt and ampere?
We see this daily with retards who think a hotter cards produces more heat. That's wrong on such a basic level you would fail high-school physics.

There's a big difference between someone who plays an instrument/video games and an "instrument/technology enthusiast". The latter should definitely know about physics

I am receiving a Thinkpad today in the mail. What are the chances of it containing bed bugs? What would be the best way to check and eliminate them?
I do not want to infest my home, bed bugs are the worst pieces of shit on this Earth.
>>58661323
> What are the chances of it containing bed bugs?
Asking the right questions.
Well, you see, Thinkpads are enterprise laptops. I don't think there's a big chance it was at somebody's house before.
>>58661323
Why would bed bugs hide in a laptop in the first place? They want blood every night and they are slow, not to mention the heat inside the shit.
>>58661323
I've never heard of this, but i bought a shitty gaymurr rig from craiglist to scrap for parts and the GPU (A gtx 460 if i remember correctly...) had a removable fan for cleaning. I took out the fan and 25+ stinkbugs flew out. I never trusted a used computer again, and definitely wouldn't buy used furniture
