How can Firecuck by SJWzilla even compete???
Why aren't you using Iridium or Ungoogled-Chromium (or any other Chromium-based browser), /g/?? Why are you still stuck with a browser that has 12% marketshare?
>Chrome now reloads pages 28% faster
>Typically, when you reload a page (and that’s a feature even the earliest browsers had), the browser ends up making hundreds of network requests just to see if the images and other resources it cached the first time you went to a site are still valid.
>As Google engineer Takashi Toyoshima notes in today’s announcement, users typically reload pages because they either look broken or because the content looks like it should have been updated (think old-school live blogs). He argues that when browser developers first added this feature, it was mostly because broken pages were common. Today, users mostly reload pages because the content of a site seems stale.
>To overcome this issue, the team simplified Chrome’s reload behavior and it now only validates the main resource. Facebook, just like other pages, says its pages now reload 28 percent faster, too, so the next time you want to check if your friends finally posted new pictures of their cute corgis to Facebook (and you are using the web app instead of the native FB app), you’ll now get the answer faster.

I've been running it since before broadband was a thing.
What's the point of putting high end i5's and i7's into macs if they throttle to core 2 duo level performance if you actually try to use it?
because throttled whatever else would be worse
because it looks good on paper

How can one company make so many mistakes?
Its easy mode. You already have your natural monopoly.
>>58666119
Mistakes...?
But I think they got money from customers plus subventions all along, didn't they?

>>58666119
And Charter recently bought some other company. Acquisitions must be easy mode
I want a triple monitor setup, but im on a tight budget. I already have 2 monitors running at 75Hz.
Would having one main monitor running at 144Hz and two at 75Hz on either side be that terrible?
Now i know that it would be terrible if im gonna play games on all three monitors.
Im mainly gonna play games on the 144Hz one.
Would it be any noticable difference in just casual browsing and and watching movies?
>>58666011
dont be a poorfag, and mismatch monitors.
You wouldn't notice the difference for anything that isn't gaming.
I have a 120hz primary and 2 60hz on the sides, and the difference is barely perceptible unless I'm dragging windows around quickly between monitors and even then it's a slight change in tearing.
TL;DR No it won't matter
I have 2 identical monitors one at 144hz and one at 60hz (not enough dvid ports on gpu)
In general use I cant tell any difference unless I'm moving a mouse cursor/window looking for it.
What subnetmask are you using for your homenetwork ?
1: duh /24
2: small as possible, like /28
3: Class B or A Network
4: something else
I know people of all 3 types.
What type is /g/ ?
I'm asking because I heard there is a fetish of choosing small subnetmasks that barely fit, even in a fucking SOHO
>>58665948
have you been hanging around tripfags again? Because this sounds like something that guy who name all his computers after Touhou characters would do.
>>58665948
oh what the fuck
Talking about technology with my doctor he said that one of the things that pissed him off is the people pirating textbooks because they are enjoying of the work and guts of others. He argues that most of them don't even graduate because what is free is worthless, they end not studying. He said that in the future, specially now with Trump, some things will change and the govt. will start a war against copyright infringement, not only uploaders will be arrested but downloaders too because they already have some big database of pirates from various p2p swarms for example.
Can it really happen Everybody will be sued, one by one?
Why is the academic circle so anti-piracy?
>>58665871
Bump
>>58665871
academics i know are chasing after these sweet academic (you)s while being paid baseline salaries from universities so they don't care about their papers being pirated
textbooks are differents but they usually are expensive as fuck so whatever

Can you explain this point?
Why use any other operating system than Windows 10?
>He uses Windows 7 or 8.1
Support will be ending soon and you already have the botnet installed. Keep thinking you're safe from Microsoft intentionally going in and breaking your shit to frustrate you to get you to update to Windows 10.
>He uses OSX
Good thing you paid a premium price for decent hardware, no expansion and a slightly polished Linux distro. It was daddy's money so you don't care though, right?
>He uses a Hackintosh
Enjoy updating your system. One error and you have to start all over again. Enjoy your lack of stability and retina display that you have to pay for as well.
>He uses Linux
Enjoy those drivers, lack of games and professional software. Do you want to submit a professional resume? Good luck even finding a template that's Libreoffice compatible. Most Linux users are NEETs anyway or server admins. Enjoy losing your hearing from being in server rooms all day.
Face it, Windows 10 is a professional operating system. OSX may look nice, and the large majority of hipsters in SV might use it, but that's because they're paid a retarded amount and can afford it.
Unless you program or are a developer, there's little need for a UNIX environment.
>He uses Windows 10
Telemetry.

I never updated my w7 at all. My pc is as I bought it in 2011.
Soon I'll be using linux debian when my pc crashes and won't come back to live anymore. Hopefully that takes a few years to happen.
GNU/Linux literally has the best driver support of any OS. Over a third of the Steam library is supported. You can use LaTeX for resumes and it will look loads better anyway. As for "professional software", there is plenty. Blender, Krita, FreeCAD, Ardour, and Kdenlive to name a few.
How the fuck do you setup Eclipse when developing client-server applications? I want to run both at the same time
>>58665615
You can have more than one class that has a main(...) method. Use the run menu to create launch profiles for each runnable class. launch them via debug or run tool button. If you want to run both, launch one main, then the other. To kill them, go to eclipse's debug window and right click on the app you want to kill.

Just use a light client; curl or something. Assuming you're developing for web.
/g/ I'm looking at several job postings that are asking for 1 year JavaScript experience.
What level of proficiency does this imply?
I'm pretty comfortable with js when I work on things on my own (I've built several websites and write scripts in python to "automate the boring stuff"), but I've never had a programming job before.
what kind of scripts
You suffering from imposter syndrome speaks well of your skills. A job asking for 1 year experience is probably not expecting much, and if you've built your own stuff you're way ahead of the curve.
Also you'll find out when you get hired that a lot of "professional" programmers are basically incompetent.
>>58665597
Last thing I wrote was a script to periodically check for open camping sites in various locations and send me an email when something interesting opened up.

Has anyone ever swapped the batteries in their laptop with new 18650s? The battery life in my thinkpad is complete ass and a new pack is very expensive. I'm thinking about swapping out the cells manually.
Thoughts?
