So I finally got my 6600K and am trying to get it to 4.5ghz.
I put the vCore at 1.320 and it bsod on loading my desktop. Should I raise it or drop it at this point? I'm on a z170 ud3 with a 212 evo cooling it. Anyone have any advice or tips?

Raise the voltage slightly
It didn't say that's what you're supposed to do when you looked this up online?
I hope the kid in op got shot or gets eventually, I cannot explain this feeling.
My GA-Z170M-D3H motherboard has an auto-overclock option for 6600ks and 6700ks, that overrides the clock and voltage settings
If you have something like that, make sure it isn't on
And yes, now you raise the voltage slightly and retest, thats how this works
So I have a 2010 model MacBook Pro, and am thinking about getting either a ThinkPad X1 Carbon, T460s, or Dell XPS Developer Edition. I'd like something good for development, but also as a math student, so I'm trying to decide if the touch display or 2-in-1 hybrid model would be worth it. I'm interested in running or dual booting Linux as well. Or should I just get another MacBook? Thoughts?
>for development
Go with the 2015 MBP since you're probably already comfortable with MacOS
Touch screen laptops are a fucking meme
>>58739013
Why the fuck would you need the touch screen on a fucking laptop?
>>58739041
>>58739044
The touch screen idea is mostly for taking notes,as a lot of my classmates do that.
My shitty apartment has a 20A outlet that is supposed to be used with the heater and AC. I don't use the unit provided heater because it's 4,000W but somehow doesn't heat the room well.
I'm tired of tripping the breaker because I forgot to turn off the heater before turning on the vacuum, so I want to use the dedicated 20A outlet. Can I just buy a 15Ato20A adapter and plug my space heater into the 20A outlet?
>>58739000
I don't see any reason why not. Do the 15 and 20 have different port types of does the adapter decrease the amps?
the different prong shape is meant to prevent idiots from plugging in 20A devices into a 15A socket.
15A into 20A is fine. just get an adapter.
>>58739117
I can't imagine a 15A to 20A adapter would do anything but physically change the prongs.
>>58739232
That's what I thought. Was confused because the cocksmurf landlord had an only 20A outlet installed instead of the 15/20A ones I've seen before with horizontal and vertical slots.
Thanks.

I know this Jewess who looks just like that. Also, it won't go past 8k because you literally won't see a difference on anything but movie screens.

You can have a hard drive encrypted thinkpad running linux and use a VPN all the time, but none of that matters if your processor is compromised. There should be a libreboot general.
ohh come on no one cares? i guess time for me to tinfoil alone
>>58738936
It's discussed here and there. Problem is open hardware is far more expensive and uncommon
>>58738936
Because there's no escape. You either deny yourself anything resembling modern hardware or accept that 3 letter agencies' cock.
Why is Bias Lighting such a good thing and is Ambilight worth it? Are there proper solutions for non Phillips tvs? Should I consider it or is this just complete garbage?
Good? It's pleasant looking, nothing more.
>>58738788
This.
I tried it once, and it was awful. How the fuck are you supposed to enjoy this shit?
>>58738800
You mean Ambilight or just Bias Lighting? You know just a white light behind the tv

No x86

Just when Microsoft decided to break compatibility with WM6.
Idk. As a mobile OS I really enjoyed it.

Hi /g/, I have an software engineer internship phone interview tonight and I don't feel prepared. The subject of the job is remote software for multiple in house tools, mostly c++ I think. Anything to read up on or any resources that would be useful for me within the next 8 hours?
they'll ask you to fizz buzz, 100% guaranteed. Keep practicing fizz buzz and you'll be fine
>>58738508

Hello fellas.
So I want to use multiple versions of the same program on my Linux with minimum effort. Is that possible? I'm looking into Gentoo Slots, can't figure if that's what I need.
>>58738279
yes install gentoo
>>58738322
I hope you are not trolling. Anyway, how is Gentoo compared to Arch? I'm happy with Arch, wondering if it will take much more time to maintain Gentoo in comparison.
Try PCLinuxOS
when will google come up with it's own authentic AI assistant?
is there any development in progress? or is Viv everything we get at the moment?
>>58738235
That's cute, Applefag. But Google is busy making real AI that will one day power human-like robots so /g/ can finally have a wife. This is also a blue board, you idiot. Saged and hidden.
