I started learning programming to fix some known issues in Linux/BSD apps. So I had to learn C.
C is a great language and I have been told to use C++ as a complementary to C.
However as I am digging deep I discovered that while there is a performance gap (arguable) between C++ and Java, C++ and C tends to produce insecure programs more than Java does.

Can you give me an honest perspective of becoming a C/Java developer instead of C/C++? And why don't people like both C and Java. I think Java is actually better than C++ if you have enough Java tuning and good practices.

Im looking for a new laptop to replace my HP Dv6 and I'm currently looking at a Dell XPS 15.
>1080p screen option and not any of that UHD/4K meme shit especially on a 15.6 screen
>Fully utilized USB Type-C port
>Various ports
Is there a better choice considering all that?
I've looked at a few potential Asus laptops but are either manlet sized with 4k/UHD or dont utilize the charging aspect of USB Type-C.

why didn't you change the date that it would update when it notified you?

did you change the active hours?

did you disable the updates on Group Policy?

why are you using an OS tailored for facebook normies, instead of using one more suitable for doing tasks uninterrupted for longer times?

you brought this on yourself

Desktop Linux users BTFO by file manager exploit:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=777991

You can send a Linux user an archive that pretends to extract images into a folder, but actually extracts a bunch of .desktop files that look like images (complete with extensions) that can own you if you double click on them. This is nearly the exact same exploit as the "Hidden File Extensions" exploit that has been in Windows since forever, but since desktop Linux's MO is to poorly copy what successful desktop operating systems are doing, I suppose it was only a matter of time before this misfeature was copied as well.

And before you make fun of GNOME, this exploit also works in Thunar, Caja, Nemo, PCManFM and PCManFM Qt. Only Dolphin and ls are safe.
