My upgrades came in today, e6700, 3gb of ddr2, gt 710
Vastly different machine compared to the e6400, 1.5gb and integrated that was in there

I love my toaster. Hopefully Ryzen will be my upgrade.
Also, why are these Speccy threads getting deleted?

Why are gaming laptops frowned upon?
>>58936393
because gaming on a laptop is a bad idea, it looks clunky, the marketing is shot, it costs too much and because desktops cost less and do more
price/performance
most people who get gaming laptops are teenagers who just want to look cool, don't know what they really need from a computer.
For people who travel and like vidya, it's a good option tho.
>>58936393
it's a marketing term aimed at extorting teenagers parent's money
India have made unsubsidised solar cheaper than any power source in their country.
They will be a superpower by 2030.
Good for them! Super power by 2030? Not so sure about that.
>>58936037
They will never be a superpower until they learn that poo belongs in the loo.

>any AMD GPU after Radeon 280X does not work on macOS
>any Nvidia GPU after GeForce 960 does not work on macOS
>Hackintosh forums full of threads of people trying to patch the driver somehow to make them work with more recent GPUs to no avail
Is Hackintosh kill by Apple's not updating the GPUs in iMac and Mac Pro and thus not providing drivers compatible with newer GPUs?
>>58935730
Why would they?
New Mac pro's dont support normal video cards like the old ones did so why spend time creating drivers for hardware they dont use in their systems
If you're running PC hardware and you want an OS that supports that hardware, why not just use Windows?
>>58935778
cont.
Chances are they would just use specific mobile GPU's and workstation grade GPU's anyway nothing like what you'd want to actually use in your build
Since the last thread was so comfy, let's have another one

Looking online they dodged a question regarding how they stay in business...is this Tencent attempting to establish itself in the west?
>is this Tencent attempting to establish itself in the west?
They already did that with League of Legends back in 2010. Also, they just recently monetized it by adding in a premium subscription service that gives some pointless extra features, so my guess is that they were operating at a loss long enough to build market share, then cashing in. Also the creators previously made some mobile game, so I'm guessing they had at least some capital to work with, not to mention all the user data they sell.

By requiring access to your facebook account when you install the app on android

How many of you guys use this program?
What do you think about it?
I discovered it a moment ago and am trying it right now. Everything looks a bit weird but I am sure I just need to get used to it.
I used it on my laptop for awhile to prevent me from going fucking blind at night but apparently it does a bunch of sketchy data collection

>apparently it does a bunch of sketchy data collection
Really? If true this would make me stop using it.

Better security, free (beer), free (speech), choice of DEs and applications, no (((telemetry))), low system requirements, why not because all most normies use is a browser these days anyway...

Yes
>free (speech)
Only if you use the linux-libre patch
>choice of DEs and applications
Can be done with Windows as well
>no (((telemetry)))
Valid point
>low system requirements
