Jokes on you i actually have AMD right now in my PC (R9 285). It wasnt worth it at all, drivers never install properly and fan control is flawed (stuck at 40% sometimes even when GPU is reaching max temp).

Can anyone tell me what g-sync actually does compared to triple buffering? I need to get a new monitor and I want to stick to 1920x1280 (I'm afraid old games will look like shit on anything bigger), but those don't come with g-sync and I heard g-sync would make old cards stay competitive longer. I HATE screentearing or stuttering so depending on what it is it could be really useful to me.

Also, best 1980x1280 monitor for the cost? It's for gaymin of course so low latency is a must.

>g-sync
Jews from marketing claims it prevents you noticing unstable framerate and lag.

I claim it is super placebo effect which forces you to pay 2~4x more for your monitor and it vendor-locks you to nvidia.

Also your resolution is meme. Get up with times:
24" 1920x1080 are super cheap
27" 2560x1440 are optimal (you can even buy reasonable priced hardware to play games in this resolution)
30+ 3840x2160 are still a bit meme (simply no content, windows and old apps are too small on it and even 1080 struggles on it to have stable 60fps)

Check your store to see that for the same price you can buy
4x first option
2x second
1x third.

Also consider ultrawide models. Nobody wants them so they are cheap as well.
And buy IPS for the colors. There are IPS models with 5ms delay so unless you are superman you shouldnt be able to tell the difference.

Use your brain and buy 1440p or 4K.

not sure what old games op is playing but
i rather not play games where 800x600 is the max resolution on a 4k monitor

How does browser fingerprinting work?
How much could a website I visit potentially know about my system (within reason, so no extreme hacking scenarios)?
I'm sure they know my monitor resolution (which, as far as I understand, could be spoofed by simply resizing the browser window), my OS, my browser (and version), and whatever info is gathered by coockies and trackers.

Is there more?

Could they know about what Firefox add-ons I have installed?
What about my bookmarks? Would they see a difference between a browser with no bookmarks whatsoever, and one with tens of thousands of them?

Thanks in advance.

Word is Win10 is getting yet another UI update soon, changing how the taskbar/start will look.

All of my research turns up nil when it comes to disabling Win10 from constantly being connected to the internet and downloading updates automatically. Guess we'll be getting this update whether we want it or not.

Anyone know a way to completely disable Win10 from auto updating?

>>
>>58939388
Are you actually autistic?
Disabling the automatic updates was trivial at most, and I don't understand why almost no one can figure out how to do it.

1. Check off the 'defer updates' option. This won't prevent your system from auto updating, but it will make it more rare.

2. Set your wifi connection as metered. This will actually prevent windows from downloading updates indefinitely. Whenever you do want to update you just go to the update menu and click on 'check for updates' or whatever.

Running exit nodes, and uploading large files that need to be done quickly to share with others.
We've all had to at some point upload 100+mb of something to get someone else to view or get their help with before.
Really you should hope to have 10-15 up for normal use. If you have more but don't need it all the time get a cheepo Tor exit node and feel good about assisting privacy, while still having bandwidth for normal use.
Your 176 down is pretty lopsided looking at your up speed.
He's mine. Australia Victoria. Fiber to the node. 100down 40 up plan unlimited. But because I'm X from the node it slows a bit.
Anyone got any tips for exit nodes? Planning on joining the network when I can.
