Best smartphone to get for rooting?
Preferably flagship...
Won't mind waiting if it is worth it.(regarding stuff like OnePlus 5, Note 8, Pixel 2)

wut is question i didn't read
I'd say a HTC 10 if you buy it through them. Bootloader unlocking is covered by the warranty. And if you wanted to go even deeper, you can do s-off (although it costs money to do so) to edit firmware stuff or convert it from US unlocked to w.e you want as long as the network type is the same.
The community rom scene is bretty gud and unlike most other manufactures, it actually has nougat where leedroid or viperrom take from both europe and us based firmware so there are very little bugs with a lot of compatibility.

i like my lg og
its 4 years old, but runs well.
Finally got my hands on a Pixel XL today. It's a fresh new start, so I want some app recommendations.
So far this is what my basic utility looks like:
Music Player
>foobar2000
Video Player
>MX Player
File Manager
>???
Image Viewer
>???
I need a file manager and an image viewer right now. The generally recommended ones seem to be ES File Explorer and QuickPic, but I want something a little more "KISS". ES kept giving me pop-ups whenever it wanted to "clean up storage" or some shit. QuickPic is apparently a botnet now, and I don't want to use old software by getting an old version.
>using closed source software
End your life
Music Player
>default google one
Video Player
>default player
File Manager
>whatever is build into lineage OS
Image Viewer
>google photo
Use old version of ES File Explorer.
I prefer 3.2 5.
I don't like 4.x or newer ES File Explorer.
Is this shit any good?

Gamers wanting flashy shit, rather than something plain but functional.

I remember when it started... It came along for people who wanted to do something, anything to enhance their PCs but maybe didn't have a ton of money. Thats when plexiglass, paintjobs and cold cathode was all the rage. Then companies started picking up on it and started offering offering cases and it helped gaymen spend a little more since they were getting something unique and flashy like a high performance sports car or a silly whatever year's meme car was with a big spoiler or whatever else is popular.
Now it's everywhere and its a meme and you can't even avoid it your go purely based on specs, features and value.
I love computers, but dislike programming. I'm at the point in my life where I need to start thinking about career options, and tech seems to be desirable. I enjoy customizing whatever OS I'm running, messing with virtual machines(RAT software, viruses, etc.), finding and occasionally fixing exploits on other people's systems, and much more. Do you think I have a future in the world of technology?
>>59312543
Then just do basic client support. Help grandma to open IE 8.
It's fucking painful tho.
Just learn programming, it's way more grateful than it looks and you'll be able to build your own softwares / websites.
The only limit is your imagination (and your IQ). Have fun learning HTML
IT doesn't need it
>>59312543
No. The skill set you described is outsourced like a motherfuck. You won't get a real job with only knowing basic shit like that

Someone working at the CIA spent his time on the job making a .txt file called "Japanese style Faces and then made notes in it such as " <-- Pedobear?" and "y u no guy."
The CIA paid this man to do this. The Federal Government and taxpayers paid him to do this.
Deepest lulz...Good show. You see the humor in the black and gray hat communities at cons and such, so it makes sense. To see it so blatant right out of the CIA, Feds, whitehat side too...Toplol

I'm sure you think every spy is James Bond, but most of them are just undercover humorless white-shirts pretending to be as mediocre and stupid as possible to blend in with the average person.
How is the CIA and NSA able to find so many exploits for fucking everything when they outsource everything to the lowest bidder, while tech companies pay wayyyyy more for the best security experts to keep their products safe?
many of these so called leaks are just things that existed on the internet for years that some guy probably just saved on his computer.
Haskell.
>>59312247
no thanks.
>>59312247
Nice operational semantics you got there.
Would be a shame if someone exposed them as stolen from ML.
>>59312247
For a long time I avoided Haskell because unlike SML/OCaml/F#/what have you it was lazy. Now that I've used Haskell for a while I not only appreciate laziness by default, I think I am beginning to prefer it. Fuck. Will this ruin other programming languages for me? Am I doomed to debug space leaks now?
What do you guys think of gaming laptops? Should I get one or just go with cheap ass school laptop and desktop for gaming combo?
I don't think I can spend 2200+ on a laptop if that helps. Alienware looks nice I think.
If you can afford it, get a laptop with dual gfx cards and an i7
Alienware are fine
>>59311690
You can do both for around 1600 if you're ok with medium/high graphics while gaming on the go.
>>59311690
Christ no
Contrary to /v/'s opinion, you aren't cool for having a RGB LED keyboard on full bright in a dark room, or playing a shitty F2P game during lectures.
I'd really recommend you stop giving a shit about games. You won't need beefy shit unless you're going into an engineering course that'll use complex software. You can get through any CS course with a shitty 2006 ThinkPad -- and people have before.
If you want to have fun, go out and socialize.
Which is the best smartphone to buy right now? I've been using Sony's Xperia SL LT26ii for 5 years now and want to switch to the best phone. Price isn't an issue but I'll have you know that don't have Mac or PC right now.
>>59311312
well if price isn't an issue, you can stick with sony and get the XZs or XZ Premium...
>>59311312
Best phone to buy?
Because you haven't provided us with what you want, price or performance, I'm going to have go go ahead and recommend the Zuk Z2.
Specify a bit more?
Currently the pixel or one plus 3t are the best

Is there a free alternative to Ghost Browser? This shit is literally the best internet browser I've tried in my life but the concept of paying monthly for a browser is fucking ridiculous.
>>59311181
Looks like its just chrome with a bunch of addons. Whats to stop you from using it when you stop paying?
>>59311224
It's pay2win, the features I need are very limited for free users.

Lists JavaScript and Visual Basic (or whatever *.vbs files are), not sure if batch files can be considered a programming language.
>Linux

It lists Python and Perl, Bash might be considered one too.

Lists GCC (includes Go, Fortran, C and C++, a shitty java implementation), Perl, ksh might be considered one too.
