I wanna use Linux. is Ubuntu a good choice?
>>60374259
Use kali linux, it's what all hackers use.
honestlly, ubuntu is the ONLY good choice besides mint
Yes. Any linux is a good choice. They're mostly the same anyway. What matters is picking one that supports your hardware and you're likely helped covered by Ubuntu in that regard.
Will there ever be a good gnu/linux distro? Almost everyone I tried is shit in some way. Why are /g/entoomen pushing this shitty meme os
Ubuntu

Here we go, it's another episode of "winfag doesn't know the difference between Distro and DE"
You can get any DE available for GNU/Linux on Ubuntu, either by instaling it yourself, or by installing a version of Ubuntu that comes preinstalled with it.
>Arch
>breaks if you fucking look at it the wrong way
opinion discarded. You obviously never even used it.
>Windows
>just werks
LOL
You are speaking from a place of ignorance. You are talking about things that you don't even understand. All you know is Windows, as is the case with most tech-illiterates that blindly fanboy something.
You are referring to desktop environments while talking about distros.. so... Your thread isn't even valid.
That being said, there are so many different desktop environments out there, if you don't like any then maybe you should make your own spectrum friendly DE.
So /g/, after that ransomeware virus spread, I've been concerned with my winblows OS. I've decided to switch to Arch until I stumbled upon BlackArch. What's the difference and advantages

Literally all 3 are essential to know for software development.
Have graphics gone too far?
>>60373786
I still can see huge polygons everywhere, so no.
Probably, there was so much visual noise in crysis that I found it not enjoyable and hard to play.
Being in the woods getting shot at by enemies you can't see isn't very fun.

We are absolutely in agreement.
Personally I would side against overloading operators unless the meaning is intuitively obvious, e.g. +-*/ for arithmetic classes and [] for container classes. As soon as you have to ask "what does this mean for this class...?" then you're doing it wrong, because operators ideally have a globally consistent meaning.
writing a VST synthesizer using rust
i-i have done it. i have become faggot.

I get having a CoC and forcing niceness. I get not being 100% serious in your docs. But stop with this shit in the official manual, for fuck's sake.
I know my question has a /pol/ vibe to it, but I'm interested in technical viewpoints.

I don't know, let us install gentoo and find out. Should take roughly the same amount of time.

I'll bite.
China is as free as the wild west was. Their laws are only so unenforced because they have a shitton of manpower as well as the need to compete with USA. To advance, they're pushing the cart with billions of people instead of creating a motor. We'll see where China sits with that if they every actually surpass the USA.
>china
>communist
>>60373537
noam chomsky says a lot of the Chinese economy is foreign owned and China is facing a lot of domestic problems unparalleled in the history of the USA.
"China is developing, but there is no evidence to prove that its internal development is causing a threat to the West. What is challenging the US is not China’s development, but its independence. That is the real challenge."
Hi, so exactly same DDR3 ram that I use is not sold anymore. It is kingston 2x 4gb non-fury kit
665.1 MHz I'm gonna buy rx580 for my old computer but I also use chrome so I need 16gb ram as minimum. I know there used to be issues with mixing different manufacturers but will there be issue mixing same manufacturer but different versions?
My ram looks like pic related no X no fury just kingston dd3 and everything avaible is SUPER GAME FURY X POWER HOUSE EDITION XXXTREME
>>60373121
JAM IT IN and see if it works. Worst that will happen is your mobo won't POST or you will get random BSODs.
>>60373121
RAM sticks must always be installed in pairs of the same capacity, density, speed, and brand. If you mix and match your motherboard will go up in flames.
>>60373218
I understand the pair part,i do have pair of same ram
but when i add pair of ram that is not the same It will explode anyway?

In all seriousness, do you think this fairly widespread ransomware attack will propel companies and other organisations to switch to Linux-based operating systems?
The reason why many have stuck with old Windows versions is, of course, money - mainly from the limited and short-term viewpoints of upper management types. But now that they have seen what can happen, will they consider switching to more stable, reliable and secure systems? Or will it require something of a much larger magnitude than this do you think?
>>60372711
I think at least some companies will change. People need to notice that Linux isn't that 7 head monster anymore. Ubuntu and RHEL r probably the best choice for them
but muh legaycy software
no, theyll just upgrade to windows 7 instead
the infected companies are just not smart enough to deal with linux
