Is Windows the best OS?
>>60367760
which one?
best for productivity, multimedia and gaming.
>>60367774
The one where if you don't install the latest update that has to restart your computer 36 times , and if you don't install it straight away you are vulnerable to 64,000 0 day exploits.
so basically, all of them.
XPfags win again!
>Given the potential impact to customers and their businesses, we made the decision to make the Security Update for platforms in custom support only, Windows XP, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2003, broadly available for download (see links below).

So basically if you have Paint open and then close it accideentally, you can open it back up 2 weeks later at that exact point with that file
Isn't that incredible? Yeah it fucking is. It really really is.
It lets you scroll like in a facebook timeline
It shows you all the apps that were opened in the past
That's some real innovation, you cant find that in macosx or linux

sage
>>60367177
>s a g e d
It's spelled "sageta," as "sage" refers to "下げる" (sageru), which is Japanese for "to lower." The past tense form of this word is "下げた." It does not refer to the plant, as many people still seem to think. Just remember that this is an anime website, and you should remember the rest.

I hate "open sores" faggots
Closed source is better because anyone who has worked on highly complicated code knows that as soon as you start letting amateurs fuck with your code, it makes your life harder. Good projects are complicated beyond anything most of us could possibly contribute to, so why bother to make it open source?
It's closed source because they want it to work. It's not closed source because of some massive conspiracy. It's not close source so the dev can sell it via patreon. It's not closed source because he stole code from someone.
Good projects are closed source because they are complicated beyond what most people could possibly contribute to, and opening it up to everyone with a computer to contribute to is only going to make it worse, not better.
I know that nobody understands this, or wants to understand it, because it's the giant circlejerk that the dev is hiding something, but he's not. I know none of you will apologize when someday, as promised, the code is actually opened up and everyone sees that there's nothing to hide.

Ublock Origin and Privacy Badger are the ones for me.
If you're just installing Firefox for the first time, you might want to check this out from >>60361863.* your new browser is firefox.
be sure to go into options, then security, and uncheck block malicious content.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
* modify some settings
enter about:config into your url bar and apply the following modifications. do not bitch about there being too many options. that is the
fucking point. you cannot even configure many of these settings in other browsers without modifying its source or building addons.
https://pastebin.com/raw/T8TeepZP
the changes listed above are unambiguous and unopinionated. you can go a much further than this at the expense of comfort and
convenience. consider modifying some of the settings listed on https://github.com/pyllyukko/user.js/blob/master/user.js depending on
the sacrifices you are willing to make for privacy and security.
* now install your addons.
required: ublock origin, https everywhere, noscript, blender
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
* apply your filters.
required: easylist, easyprivacy.
https://easylist.to/
* and test your results.
https://panopticlick.eff.org/
* do not use chrome. chrome is a closed source browser by a for profit corporation. firefox is an open source browser by a non-profit
organization. use your head.
* do not use chromium either. it may be open source, but it still phones home.

Hi.

Is Ubuntu better than Sierra?
>>60366961
No when it comes to naming or proprietary app support.
Yes when it comes to free software and security.
>>60366981
>security
I thought macOS is super safe
>>60367006
It is okay. But you can never be sure because for all we know there could be spying and NSA backdoors built into it. This is a drawback of proprietary software.
