>Why is Pantsu down/error 502?
Most likely because the team is deploying changes. Wait for a bit and refresh the page. It should be mostly stable now.

Reposting from last thread:
Pantsudev just sent me a PM, guys.
He said he's shutting down Pantsu.
Truly a shame, but hey, at least we still have another website that works and is run by competent people.

I need to add a drop shadow to renchon.
A thread for all those jack-of-all-skills IT workers out there who realise that coding is simply a means to an end.
Post your current projects, horror stories, manager rants, dev bitchslaps, and explain through 20 green lines how you said "No" to someone and felt incredibly smug about it.
I'm currently designing and remodeling our company's shitty ancient monitoring system with the hopes of replacing 2005-era Solarwinds and a bespoke javascript page with Graylog, Graphite, and

Everyone gets promoted one step higher than they should.
>CTO is just one of the engineers that got promoted
>Continues to do engineer busywork all the time
>Never delegates
>Trusts no one
>Demands to have his finger in every pie, and approval for every change
>CEO finally had enough and cut his pay back down to engineer till he stop delaying shit and actually does CTO work.
One boss is a negative, two negative bosses make a positive.

I'm building one with different rules that don't promote being shitty, but no one will ever use it. I was thinking of scraping SO, but google would penalize me for that (those FUCKS).
Unfortunately a majority of those people looking to answer questions on programming forums are just there to fed their own ego and give themselves a feeling of superiority
How much power is really required for a gaming rig? I currently have a ~1000W PSU, and I bought it years ago with the expectation that I would upgrade down the road and eventually need that kind of power. But so far I've never even approached the limits of it. I typically leave my computer on 24/7, with a sleep mode after 2 hours. Is a 1000W PSU going to pull more amps at idle, and be less efficient overall than say a 650W unit? I know my computer is probably 5-10% of my power bill, and I'm just looking to reduce that cost. And yes, I know turning it off when I'm not using it, or having it go to sleep sooner would save more power. Do you think a 650W unit would supply enough power for a powerful single card, fairly high end desktop used roughly half for media and half for gaming? What PSU's are you guys running, and what is good these days. I haven't bought one since my current one, which was about 5-6 years ago (old school PC Power and Cooling).
Also, any more tricks for reducing power usage?
What do you even have in that thing? 500w is enough for most gaming pcs.
Power supplies peak efficiency is around 50% load m boy
Oh, forgot to include a parts list, sorry
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2
AMD 8350 overclocked to 4.6ghz
16GB ram (forget brand)
7870 GPU with slight overclock
2x 1TB WD Blacks
1x 250GB SSD
shit ton of high flow fans for air cooling
I plan to soon upgrade GPU to something that will run 4K for a new 40" 4K
Who's the most important person in tech today, and why is it Sundar Pichai?
>Google CEO Sundar Pichai just got a big payday.
>He received roughly $183 million in company stock, which will vest over the next four years.
>According to Bloomberg, this is the highest pay package that Google has ever given to an executive whose equity grants have been reported in filings.

Honestly speaking ever since he took control over at Google everything went shitty fast.
I mean their scattergun approach to apps and redundancy has gotten worse not better, Nexus program axed in favor of the shitty iPhone looking "Premium" Pixel phones, their focus to try and penetrate India as much as possible and ultimately failing to do that correctly in comparison to the existing competition there, their attempts to take Android away from the power users, failing to have enough focus to finish their projects in large scare consumer markets with shit like Google Fiber, and so much more.
I always looked at Google as the company that was trying to do interesting shit that could change the way people do things in society. Botnet memes aside they had some interesting shit that could redefine how we do shit and it was exciting to see if it would make its way to the commercial sector.
Now its just a company that has no idea what to do with itself, has no idea on focusing on one project and seeing it through, has no idea on knowing what people want, and continue to promise big while delivering little.

I'll give it to you straight /g/ I dont know computers.
Apparently here in South Africa (and globally) people were hacked by someone and when I say people like thousands.
1) How do I check if I was hacked and
2) how do I prevent it?
I run Windows defender and Malwarebytes, not sure if that is sufficient?
Kill a kaffir and I'll tell you the answer
Use GNU/Linux
Assuming you're the productive sort of S. African, I'll marry your sister for you to help get her out of the country.
IDE discussion. No text editors allowed (these are very useful too but they are not IDEs).
Is there a better IDE than Visual Studio? most of its cons are none of my concern (slow to load/work - my PC isn't a piece of shit so its fast all the time; don't give a shit about M$ botnet as well).
Also can we all agree that Code::Blocks and Eclipse are objectively shit?
Visual Studio Code + vscodevim is GOAT
>>60459896
for C++ and C# VS+VA is the best tool hands down
Netbeans is better than Eclipse
CodeBlocks is amateur tier which crashes when you debug thousands of lines of code.
but still, I havent installed the latest VS because it's kinda bloated with gay JS stuff, I still run 2013 and I got no problems with it.
>>60459979
VA?
Only PC Cases built from scratch. im planning on making my own using some mdf (probably wont look as good as these in photos) so i need some plans

fuuaark, sata3 2.5" ssd was just enough, I see no diff between 500MB read/write and 3000MB read/write. THE PERFORMANCE IS STILL THE SAME

that's another story. fucking samsung 960 pro is 40C on idle, 60C on heavy load.
I'm really fucked up.

It's not about the speed you fucking retard, it's about the delays. Did you install the OS on it or not?

Another washing machine broken in less than 4 year, which one shall I try now?
>>60459453
How about fixing it first.
Any make will do, you just need to disassemble it enough to get to the $1 electronic control circuitry and seal it better against moisture and it'll last you for 20+ years
>>60459461
>called the man for the job
>bearings are now part of the washing machine basket
>can't fix unless changing a 270€ part
It's bullshit, but what can I do if they make all in one shitty product with shitty build quality.
Also
>the man got paid 35€ for his "service"
Going to try out qubes OS.
Any users? Pros cons?
Qubes vs openbsd that is the real question
>no games
It fucking sucks unless you have the hardware for it.
