How many coders do the world really need?
>>60462617
Like, a billion.
>>60462617
Probably a lot?
Not every other job is automated away yet.
We're not even yet at the level where we have automated the creation and maintenance of robots yet.
It looks comfy as fuck there
>
>>60462570
>implying you need more than 1280x720 on a phone
Why the fuck? Like, I can barely see the difference between FHD and QHD on my galaxy. I guess for the memes you could use QHD because if you look really carefully from up close, you might just possibly see the pixels when using "only" FHD.
But UHD? There's literally no possible way to see the difference, it just takes up a shitton more battery for no reason.
>>60462968
As a pixel owner with one of those daydream headsets, I think the extreme density would be pretty cool for VR purposes. Really my only complaint with the setup right now is the somewhat apparent pixelation.
Anyone heard of the company Tech Mahindra before? I was called by them and they might be interested in hiring me as a network engineer, but I'm not sure how it is working for a pajeet company.
>>60462456
Teach them to poo in the loo!!
>>60462456
>File: PO0...

>>60462456
They'll just be hiring you to train your replacement.
So /g/, what is a good IDE for programming in Lua?
nano
>>60462430
An IDE for Windows could it be?
>>60462586
>>60462402
Are you going to make gmod mods?
Let me eject my external HDD, you fucking piece of shit!! Seriously, is Linux just as stupid as Windows is in this regard? Nothing was using it, no programs were running, no i/o operations indicated, I even closed explorer, nothing. Not even the reader heads moving noise, just the disks were spinning but even when it stopped spinning them (power saver) it still refused to eject it. I had to shut off my computer to eject it properly.
>>60462339
NSA still wanted to scan it, that's why.
>>60462339
>actually ejecting a drive
who does this.
>>60462412
people who like their filesystems consistent
I've never used a wireless mouse. Are they slower and less responsive compared to wired mice?
Barely. You only notice it when you are an autist.
>>60462333
they're three times faster because the signals/electricity isn't interfered by wires, thus, faster response
Mine likes cutting out for no reason and only functions when I remove the battery and put it back in.
It also gets weirdly jittery for no reason and I'm like all of two feet away from the dongle, too.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a laptop.
McAfee is telling me to switch on WebAdvisor, which reminds me: what's the best way to protect my PC?
AVG? Avast? Kaspersky? I'm out of the loop.
/g/ moves faster than I imagined
Bump
>>60462319
Kaspersky is actually made by a former KGB agent and its known to have security "issues".
Thats my 2 cents.
>>60462603
Thanks, that's a no go there then.
What do you use?
Whatever happened to 3D printing? It was hyped up to be the next big thing years ago, and now it's gone totally quiet.
>>60462318
Because cheap 3D printers produce shitty looking products? I'd rather have a cheap CNC mill desu
What are you talking about?
It's just that it's commonplace now. It's not an amazing achievement to 3D print something.
My public library has two 3D printers that are constantly used by people, I had to wait four hours because some assfuck decided to print something that took longer than the 2 hour limit the printers have and the admin for said printers has no spine to tell people off for doing that.
>>60462318
It's already big, why would you need to hype something that everyone who wanted one, now already has?
Did you really expect 3D printers to practically become a common household item next to fridges and washing machines?
There are plenty of machines and resources for anyone interested to get into it today.
How to bypass addblock blocker?

So I was researching on what technology is needed for a live streaming site, and found out that the only way to stream from a browser is using flash, and proprietary aids like wowza server, or adobe media server, open source alternatives are inferior
why is web streaming technology so far behind?
I'm 90% sure you don't need flash to run a streaming site.
Youtube, netflix, rabb.it, hell even pornhub, don't need flash to view them. I don't see why you would need flash to run them either,
I have no experience in this though, just an observation
>>60463368
This. Look up HLS. I have a streaming service set up but it's very basic at the moment and still a little but buggy.
>>60463368
yeah you don't need flash to view, but you need flash to send your stream if you want it to be web based, and not ask people to use a 3rd party program like obs.
I'll wait.
>>60462038
For my Fennec it's everything legit here.
>>60462038
Daily reminder that there are other protocols to deal with encryption and authentification of websites without trusting 3rd parties with their fake certificates and sharing keys to nsa, but nobody bothered to implement them because that way the web would really be secure and (they) whouldnt be able to read what you are reading and posting.
>>60462038
To who?
You know your clock is just wrong, right?
Help me buy a monitor /g/. I really can't decide what's more important for me and what's best bang for buck. I think my biggest preference would be to have 1440p and freesync, but higher framerate is also up there on the wishlist, but I still don't feel like giving too much for a specific feature. Narrowed it down to:
>ViewSonic XG2401 - 300 eur
24' 144hz 1ms 1080p TN freesync
>Dell U2515H - 300 eur
25' 60hz 8ms 1440p IPS
>Asus PB278QR - 430 eur
27' 60hz 5ms 1440p IPS
Dell U2715H - 447 eur
27' 60hz 8ms 1440p IPS
>Acer XG270HU - 470 eur
27' 144hz 1ms 1440p TN freesync
>Acer XF270HUA - 517 eur
27' 144hz 4ms 1440p IPS freesync
>>60461986
are any of these 16:10 ratio?
>>60462173
No, all 16:9, 2560x1440p except for the first one which is 1920x1080. General use: 50% gaming, 50% watching bluray movies.
>>60461986
>27 60 5 1440p IPS
Literally specs of my surrent monitor. Pick that one.
What happens when you patch a game so that Nvidia is forced to render the entire scene as intended?
>pic related
What?
>>60461969
>>60461989
Some shadows were broken/not rendering. Patch fixed it. FPS tanked. Nvidia am cry.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC2ZlLoo14w
>>60462002
So this patch was only for nvidia drivers or was it for the game?
After months of trying out different GNU/Linux distros, I've come to the conclusion that Ubuntu is the best.
>easy to use
>everything works
>no need to edit config files just to be able to use your computer
>best software/hardware support
Why do you guys meme on Ubuntu? It just works.
>>60461841
If you're just an user, it's really the best.
