Welp, the day has come. I just lost my fourth and last sansa clip, and seeing the current prices these things are going for now, I don't think it'll be viable for me to just buy a new one. What now? With bluetooth headphones coming into mainstream, will we ever see a portable music player of the class of the sands clip ever again?

Any of you do bioinformatics? I'm a chemist but wet experiments bore the fuck out of me and I miss using actual math. I got a few books on the basics and it seems much more interesting.

How did you do it? I rooted my phone and wiped the useless stuff off, but it seems like a bad method that leaves residue(like toilet paper).

Do you need a degree to get a good job working with computers? One that involves either:
>machine learning
>data analysis
>3d programming, including, but no necessarily, game dev
>gamedev, which includes:
>modeling
>animating
>concept arts
>webdev
I am willing to learn all everything. I like math, psychology, physics... all that stuff. I've been web developing front-end for some time, and recently got into back end. Also automatized stuff on my PC, like creating spreadsheets. Also done some puzzles in C. I just think that I learn better by myself and that college is just a bunch of people talking about racism and >muh priviledge.

hey /g/. Having issues with my rig. My hard drive seems to have developed a lot of bad sectors. I used a HD scanner and it found 400+ bad sectors before it crashed. It was clean up to about 82%. Not sure how many bad sectors it had. Is there a program that can block or repair these bad sectors? I'd even accept a huge loss in capacity. Money is tight. I don't want to buy a new HD. Probably 5 years old now.

No, your head is crashing and it's going to be a progressive failure.
A few bad sectors happens occasionally. That many means it's dying. If there's anything you want saved get it off now, since you may only get one read of it as the head destroys what's under it.

oddly enough windows version of check disk says everything is fine. Probably a useless program.
Any recommendations?
I looked into long term data storage but the only real fool proof method is M discs. Which last forever but require a certain disc drive and can only get one write. Space is limited but price per gig is not terrible. 5 bucks for a 100 gig disc.
