Are their nano degrees worth it?
Has anyone gotten a job with one?

I bet all you faggots freaked out about superfetch too even though unused ram is wasted
I have about 8 years of experience in the IT world, mostly learned through work. I am pretty confident in my abilities, but know that I need some sort of formal education. My boss is offering to pay for certifications, so at this point it's a no-brainer. I enjoy server infrastructure, network security and wireless communications. What certifications do you recommend for someone to like me? Right now I am thinking MCSA & Security+
It's not a bad idea starting with A+, and then using that and going into the MCSA and other CompTIA certs
>>60814327
CCNA then CCNA Security, possibly MCSA/RHCSA if you're into those. Don't bother with CompTIA

What mail client do you /g/ents use?
Looking for something reasonably light, keyboard controlled, supporting Gmail features. Am on linux.
- Thunderbird too heavy and UI straight out of the 90's
- Nylas retardedly slow
Had 24 apps sitting in ram, instead of closing them manually. My cpu stayed at 400mhz instead of going into deep sleep. Lost +/- 15% battery for nothing so far.

Greenify them.
>>60813526
There is a difference about keeping them in RAM and the Apps™ keeping the device awake.

well if you put it like that
Get in here to discuss infrastructure technology regardless of platform. AIX, Linux, midrange, mainframe, OSX, even windows welcome.

What is programming Java for mainframe like? I accepted a job at a large financial institution that is loaded with mainframe and I know Oracle is their software stack.

Springs are used to store mechanical energy, and it has a physical pivot. It's mechanical.

Yes, they actually are.

Why the fuck is Apple doing this if their user base is going to buy anything with an Apple logo on it anyway?
For those who want to try:
>8 core Xeon
>32 GB ECC
>1 TB PCIe SSD
>8 GB graphics card (8GB Vega will be around 1080 peformance)
>High quality 5K IPS display
>4 Thunderbolt 3 ports
>10 GB Ethernet
Two days ago I opened an Upwork account to try and make money on the side. I have put myself out there as a technical writer/editor, but I'm getting unsolicited ads for electronics and embedded projects. I'm a little suspicious of all these unsolicited messages.
Does anybody else here use it? Any good advice/tips?
get a real job you waste of skin

I do have a real job. That's why it's money on the side.

I have XenServer running on a laptop. There is a Windows Server 2012 R2 installation on it, and... well it's been running for like half a year non stop now, and my roommate never even mentioned it (he has remote access and runs some software on it) so I guess you could say it runs prettt well. Also, you can use the desktop through the XenServer management software.
