I was wondering if there is some way to remotely brick the bios of a computer on a separate network. Perhaps some way to force your way into remote desktop and force a corrupted bios update or plant a script that will?

Xamarin.Forms is buggy and slow on Android. Xamarin.iOS and Xamarin.Android are sort of ok but code sharing is minimal unless you use mvvmcross, and even then it's not that impressive. You still have to know all platforms API to the fullest to write anything good. It only works well for logic heavy apps with minimal nativity and interface. That's why business likes it so much. For consumer oriented stuff I'd check native script instead.

Please tell me this is going to be the Vega that's for vidya and not high-end workstations.
I'm so damn tired of all the gaymer aesthetic on gaymer GPUs and mobos.

I just want a PC build for vidya and work that plays games well, without looking like a Transformer.
This GPU is so fucking beautiful, I need it.

This is Vega FE and thus not for gaymers. RX will probably be white/red or have more color options.
>>
>>60850972
This is a workstation card.
And no amount of whining will change AMD's main focus anymore, certainly not you whiny gamers.
>>
>>60850972
No, this is watercooled edition of Vega FE, the workstation one.

How do I get foobar to show all my music by drive? I want to get the folder structure on album list but listing every album under each drive letter.

So far from reading forums I got it to split it into the two drives where I store my music but without the tree structure. It only loads all content on the playlist viewer. How do I add the tree structure?

This is the code I used:

>$if($strstr(%path%,D:\Music),D,) $if($strstr(%path%,G:\Music\ARCHIVE),ARCHIVE,)

That is quite the serious case of autism. Also, are you so poor you can't afford a single HDD large enough to hold all of your music? Large HDDs are cheap as fuck these days
>>

I have an external for archival purposes, current music on the internal. who the fuck has all their music in one place? who listen to the same music for more than a couple of years? fucking nerd.
>>
why not just put D:\Music and G:\Music as the paths for your media library and view album list by folder structure

>>
>>60850578
I read some of it, but at the I hadn't even had my first programmer job so a lot of it was pretty alien to me.

I feel the book is great to teach you how to structure any software project independent of the technologies you use. But you need some years of field experience to truly grasp it.
>>
>>60850578
Yes.
Its full of good practices but it is an old book from the late 90s to the early 2000s.
Expect examples in Java and even C++.

/g/ I've had a burn in on my Lenovo think pad. It doesn't show up when I screenshot it so I took a picture. The backround is supposed to be completely blue so where it's been lit up is the burn in. How do I fix this? Are there any quick fix solutions or do I need to buy a new display?

New display, if you bought a good thinkpad it should be a piece of cake. Hit up eBay

I was thinking I should connect the VHS player to an Easycap stick, then record the footage via VLC.
Does anyone have any better ideas? Also I'm running Ubuntu, so only solutions that can work on GNU/Linux pls

Better idea is don't use an easycap stick, they suck and will break on you really fast.
>>
>>60850321

rm -rf / and install gentoo

then buy a non-shit capture device like magewell usb capture aio
>>
I actually just started digitizing some of my VHS exclusive straight to shiteo horror films. I've been fooling around with the Elgato Game Capture HD and OBS. So far I've gotten decent results. Still trying to mess with the settings to get a good balance between quality and file size. The Elgato is a bit more expensive than an easycap but well worth it. The easy cap will be nothing but a headache desu and a used Game Capture HD can probably be had for a reasonable price. I don't know what the GNU/Linux support is like though so your mileage may vary.

First off, systemd is not an init system, it has an init system as part of the systemd suite. systemd is a project to build a standardised lowlevel userland for Linux. The project is pretty comprehensive and it delivers a lot of functionality under one umbrella. It does away with a lot of older, often undermaintained software packages, which were traditionally used to assemble a low level userland.

Which is where the contention comes from, as a system suite systemd is restrictive for Unix virtuosi who are used to tailor a system with wit, ingenuity, a lick and a prayer and a couple dozen of unrelated packages. systemd makes such knowledge useless.

The faction that thinks that systemd is Linux's Hiroshima, finds all the added functionality bloat, unnecessary and dangerous, as it is all under development in one project.

All the systemd jokes stem from the comprehensiveness as a low level system suite. People against it love to joke that one day systemd will write its own kernel.

There is a lot of FUD and hate going around. Some arguments do have merit, a lot of eggs in one basket is certainly true, but as with all things in life, it depends which tradeoff you prefer. Do you want a suite of well designed software, working closely together, so that system management is streamlined or do you want the complete freedom to tailor your own low level system with a lot of time tested, interchangeable components.

I have no desire to be a low level system designer, so I prefer systemd. I don't hate traditional init systems though. If a Linux system has one and I need to work with it, I'm still happy it boots and starts the necessary services.
