hello goyim, so i read your fucking sticky and got some decent information out of it. I have gained a substantial amount of weight over the last couple of years and now ready to lose it. I did the kris gethin 12 week thing before, but looking back it was so tedious, had me in the gym for 2 and a half hours some a lot of the days. Im thinking of something more simplistic this time like your starting strength routine. Im probably looking to lose upwards of 80 pounderoos. I was looking around and most people said running while doing starting strength could be detrimental to my noob gains. How bad would running at least 5 times a week be while doing starting strength? If running would be too counter productive on SS what routines would be good for me?

cardio is fine, just do it after lifting so you can put your 100% to progressing with weights. i'd also limit it on rest days so you are refreshed for your next lifting workout.

too much long distance running will fuck up with your strength and muscle gain so keep that in mind. keep it short and do more HIIT and avoid marathon running.

I once decided to see how far "bulking" can go.
Once I started to reach obese level bmi, I found it hard to eat enough to maintain growth, and started to feel ill.
I guess it's easier if you are completely inactive, but yeah, there is a point where you realise you're fucking your shit up.
Sadly most fatasses have never been below that point long enough to realise, and think having blood pressure like a pneumatic earth mover is normal, and that climbing a flight of stairs without getting woozy is a myth. So they just keep piling it on.

Sup fit,

fell for the meme, ignored the trolls and went full into SS. been doing it for a year.

Today I just hit work sets of 3x5 1/2/3/4 on all my lifts. I'm 6'3" 270 lbs and ~30%bf. just been lifting and eating, I always knew how to eat so I said fuck it to my sex life and kept getting stronger.

I'm tired of this obv. so I'm going on a 500cal cut and switching to 5/3/1 bodybuilding split.

Am I gonna make it?

Can anyone give me an idea of strength/weight goals? I'm currently training on the para 9 week program to prep for assessment, though I intend to go for a good 6 month before applying. Its 75% cardio and the rest is crunches/push ups + a small gym routine. I've added squats, deadlift, bench and sled pulls to it.

Anyone else have experiences in/applying for the military? US/UK/ANZAC whatever

Military is all endurance and cardio. Work on your core strength and do pull/push ups.

I wouldn't bother with compound lifts as you'll lose so much weight and muscle during basic it's depressing.

You'll be doing some form of running and endurance training every day while at a deficit. Also learn to run whilst needing to take a shit.

Mostly what kind of shape most recruits are in when they show up for tests/physical assessments etc. Aside from the run times and push up counts. I've lost a lot of weight as I haven't been to the gym in a year and lived poor as shit. I'm looking to put some back on now gradually but keeping it in check and slim with lots of exercise and maintenance/small surplus. Given the emphasis on bodyweight exercise and cardio I'd think most are very slim but just watching the videos of them, some of those guys are fucking huge. It doesn't really add up in my mind.
