Start with just smelling like nothing. Shower, brush your teeth, wash your face, wash and comb your hair. wear an antiperspirant if you sweat a lot. Clean up your diet if you're eating a lot of strong smelling foods that release through your pores. Make sure your clothes are washed and fresh smelling as well.

Not trying to be condescending but a lot of people think body spray and cologne covers up their body odor when it just mixes with it and doesn't improve anything.

I don't wear cologne often but just me smelling normal (freshly showered) and my clothes like laundry detergent has always gotten me many compliments because so many people fail at basic hygiene.

there's fragrances that match fresh scents, some are artificial smelling whereas others are more natural.

find a good few fragrances that compliment your personality and you will be a confident man more so than if you wore none. people remember smells and they can give a good first impression if you're simply in the same room as someone before you go up to anybody.

That's kinda what I go for. Just being clean. No scent is the best in my opinion.

It's a mixture of bull shit and truth.

If I see two similarly dressed 19 year old's but one kid has on a Gucci t-shirt, it makes me thing that the kid in the Gucci tee takes a little more pride in and time out of their life to insure that they're able to look their best.

I don't like gaudy branding, that kid could probably be a shit head idiot that smells like cigarettes and piss, but for a brief second I thought that they were interesting. Some people are able to take it much farther than others and build whole careers out of it. See Ian Connor.
