Hey /co/, just finished reading the released volumes of Thorgal. Are there any other great fantasy comics out there?
I was reading Prince Valiant, but I couldn't find scans.

The Roy Thomas era of Marvel's Conan is SPECTACULAR. Dark Horse's first few years of Conan were arguably even better. The first volume in particular is one of the best comics ever.
>>91930736
Yeah, but I'm kind of Conan'd out for awhile.

Skull Kickers is pretty decent if you want fantasy that doesn't take itself seriously and pokes fun at every comic trope. And by not seriously I mean like pic related.
Step 1: Think of a King of the Hill character.

One day your chosen character wakes up with these new powers. What do they do now that they have the powers?

How terribly fitting.
What's the worst cartoon?
The one you really like.

This is Tulip. Say something nice about her.
She's cute.
Super cute

How come no one talks about this show here? This show is a clever, excellent homage to police procedurals. It had interesting characters, actually tense moments, and good animation and action. I think it's one of the most unjustly overlooked cartoons out there
Anyone know where I can find good quality streams of this show?
>>91929219
If you want a sort of adult-oriented version of this show, the Rian Johnson film Brick is a noir detective story set in and around a high school where the "detective" is a tough, inquisitive teen and the "chief" is the school principal.
It's played dead serious, which is actually pretty fun.

dude
>that feel when you are more saddened over the prospect of Aku dying than Jake dying
I feel you OP Samurai Jake is a dbag
Well it's no wonder, considering nobody knows who the fuck Jake is
Seriously though, who the fuck gives a shit about Jake?
Otto objectively has done more in his time as Spider Man than Peter has in his entire career. He kept NYC safe. He put down the criminals that needed to be put down.He improved Peter's life.
Peter would still be working at the Coffee Bean or whatever shitty job he had if not for Otto. Otto is the Superior Spider Man, not Peter. Peter should have never came back.
>>91928782
Ock did not improve Pete's life. Ock improved Ock's life at Pete's expense and to the detriment of many others. I wish /co/ wasn't quite so brimming with psychopathy.
>>91928782
>He put down the criminals that needed to be put down.
Like himself?
>>91928782
>He kept NYC safe.
Marvel NYC is never safe.
>He put down the criminals that needed to be put down.
Punisher does that. Its a comic, there are as many villains as the plot needs and they are unending.
>He improved Peter's life.
No he didn't, he destroyed his personal relationships and built fake ones.
>Otto is the Superior Spider Man, not Peter. Peter should have never came back.
Otto was not Spider-man, he was a body snatcher.
This is long, please bear with me.
I'm a 29 year old male.
Back in the 90s I got the videogame "Todd McFarlane's Spawn: The Videogame" for SNES. I played the shit out of the game, loved it, thought the quality of the levels got progressively darker and weirder. I knew it must've been based on a comic book (never asked parents to buy comics, since videogames were expensive enough for parents to spend in) but I never got into it.
Many years later I watched the HBO animated series of Spawn, and I started to like Spawn even more, I liked the concept of Spawn as a tragic character and had developed a great imagination for what the developed story of Spawn could be. I also grew an interest in the whole "Angels VS Demons" or "angels and/or demons" concept because of Spawn, Diablo, (and vaguely, Starcraft and Legend of Dragoon), the X/1999 anime, and the Holy Bible. And then I started thinking about the comics, knowing they were the source material for everything Spawn. It was a curiosity that always scratched at me. I imagined that Spawn might have been a trove of awesome angels vs. demons frenzy that quickly became forlorn because it came out in an era way ahead of its time. Again, I don't read comics, never have until a year ago when, coincidentally, I started reading The Walking Dead (because of the show) and boy have I loved it. I never thought I would enjoy anything "zombies"-related, especially after what they did to Resident Evil post-RE3, those dumb pieces of shit, nevermind a COMIC BOOK about zombies. And then I noticed that Image Comics is being helmed by Todd McFarlane. So that brought me back to thinking about Spawn. So I finally started reading Spawn and I have to say I am very disappointed so far. I am on issue 14 and my eyes are opened to how bad these comics are.
Okay, after that TL;DR, my question is:
WHEN DOES SPAWN BECOME A GOOD COMIC??? Help me, /co/. I am almost ready to give up on this.
>>91928648
It really only gets worse from there.
As a sexy white man who has read the first three Spawn Origins trades, I can tell you that it must be somewhere after issue 20.
>>91928648
It doesn't. People liked it because it was super edgy in the 90s and the art style was popular back then. Image comics were a fad back then and they helped nearly crash the industry. There isn't a single comic by image from the early 90s that can stand the test of time. You have to be big into liking trash ironically to get any enjoyment out of it.
I have always liked Peanuts and could always relate to Charlie Brown and even today his character is 2real4me. Peanus has that warm-looking, but actually cold on the inside, depressing and comfy feeling, and I love it.
On the other hand, I could never get into Calvin and Hobbes, even as a kid. It's just too idealist for me, too "bluepilled" if you will, it is especially apparent as an adult, after you see plenty of shit in your life.
What does /co/ think about Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes?
>>91928586
>Peanus
I shouldn't have laughed.
So, are you saying that C&H was too naive for your world-weary childhood eyes and you needed someone to reaffirm that the universe sucks? No wonder you're using /pol/'s pill terms.
>>91928586
>Peanus has that warm-looking, but actually cold on the inside, depressing and comfy feeling, and I love it.
>>91928678
There is no better way to explain it. In a way, Peanuts is the ultimate "redpill" comic for children, while Calvin and Hobbes is the ultimate "bluepill" comic for children, keep in mind that I said "for children", so obviously they can't go full "redpill" and "bluepill".
Yes, I was a pretty cynical, and also along with that lonely kid.
>>91928774
I don't get it? Peanuts is the ultimate combination of depression and comfy.

Couldn't give any less of a shit
But the surge in SFM content will be legendary
Why is /co/ so pessimistic? I honestly hope it's a fantastic and enjoyable film. Wouldn't that be a good thing?
Why did this show do so poorly in the ratings back in 2001?

Wasn't it Cartoon Network's #1 show?

Hey guys, not sure where to ask so I'll just try here.
I'm looking for gifs/webms or even videos showing a character with changing emotions, especially neutral>anger/grumpy
More points if it's disney-like.
Also, cool animations thread.
