First time on /ck/, couldn't find any generals so thought I'd post a new thread for the lunch I just made. Can anyone give me any feedback on my chickpea feast?

>PSA FOR /CK/

Don't buy your loved one an edible arrangement this coming mother or fathers day.

I bit the bullet and payed 65 dollars for this little shit of a bouquet,

Know how much fucking fruit I could have bought with that money?

It's better to buy your own fruit, cut that shit up, and enjoy it with the family in a fondue pot.

Happy Mothers day, plebs.

>people should work for free
>a service being offered for a clearly stated price is bad because I'm stupid
When I first saw these places spreading I was like holy shit they are going to go out of business in six months. And here we are years later and they're thriving. I'm ok with this. Stupid tax to punish the stupid.

Normie tip: normies send flowers. Flowers have always worked. Why anyone would want to send their mother a plate of mutilated fruit in a plastic bag is beyond me
>>
>>8933298
Flowers arent expensive enough, and obviously the more money you spent on someone the more your love him/her :^)

What is it with western countries and coffee makers/machines?
Is it shitty to them or just unheard of to make Turkish style coffee?

Most people don't have tiny little appendages and feelers to work with roach-sized instruments.
>>
>>8932946
Pretty sure there are multiple sizes for kettles.
And it's not like a kettle is the only utensil for boiling water. You can make it in a smaller pot as far as I'm concerned, it's what my grandma does when the family gathers together.

Turkish coffee is awful

I don't normally bitch about fast food. I have been a patron of the Colonel, the King, and the Clown at various points and I feel no shame... but this fucking place. Subway is where food goes to die. Its not even that, its purgatory. Everything sucks. If its not the food, its the service. If its not the service, its the other patrons. Some people have roadrage, I have Subway rage. People resort to fast food sometimes. They say to themselves "Im to lazy to cook and don't want spend much or sit in a restaurant for the better part of an hour" so you go get some food. That happened to me tonight.

>Hungry
>Lazy
>Subway only one block away
>Walk to subway
>Wait in line with other midnight wanderers
>One person working the counter
>Food stops being fast food when its slow
>Man walks in and walks straight to the bathroom and asks for the code
>Jaded overworked employee tells him the punch code
>Man takes a step in and then backs out and goes to the employee and asks him for a staxk of napkins
>The employs asks why.
>Man tells him he has to take a shit and theres too much blood on the toilet and sink to do it.
>Employee shrugs and gives him a stack of napkins
>Man goes back to the bathroom and opens the door to go inside
>There is indeed blood splattered on the toilet and sink
>Pay and leave with sanwich
>Appetite gone
>Fuck subway

What are the best options for nutritionally complete meal replacement powders?

I currently drink this for lunch errday but it's not affordable imho and it tastes like crap.

Also there's Soylent, which everyone knows about but it's not economical either.
16 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Well the one you take now is slightly better than Soylent at least, since Soylent is just ground up oat and protein powder with a multivitamin crushed into it
>>

Why is it slightly better?

>average career line cook who got famous by writing a book about the only thing he knows droning on and pretending to be knowledgeable about about anything outside nyc
>vs a bald gross looking fag who sublimates his repressed homosexuality into a love of eating horse cock - and pretty much anything that isn't his wife's punani

What is this, 2007?

I'd rather an Action Bronson, desu.
>>
Bourdain is more entertaining, but Zimmern keeps the political bullshit out of his shows. He still praises the multicult, but at least it's entirely in the service to the food whereas Bourdain is a full blown faggot with that shit.

>go to ex-colonial country
>congratulate the natives on kicking the dirty whites out and reclaiming their lands
>go to white country
>praise all the brown people flooding in and making everything horrible

The hypocrisy is too much.

Can anyone recommend some good, relatively easy low carb meals and /or snacks?

Fellow Flip here who lived there for 3 years as a kid. I'm sad that I hear nowadays you can't get taba ng talangka(small crab roe) anymore in its pure form, as it's always mixed with some shit to stretch it out. I only had a jar of it once, and it was amazing. Yeah, I could replicate it well with blue crab roe, but it's just nostalgic and convenient to have it all in a jar. Also, fishballs are awesome, but they don't sell Pinoy fishballs here in the states; it's all that spongy Chinese shit. Plus, there's no good recipe that I know of, I want the cheap commercial kind, the crispy but chewy, slightly flattened kind. I need to try that youtube commercial version that's the first result, but apparently you need to tweak it due to moisture levels that are unaccounted for. All the homestyle recipes are shit.

Also, you can get fried fish and soft shelled crabs anywhere
>tfw I looked up tawilis and they're vulnerable, bordering on endangered
A small, freshwater fish that can be eaten whole isn't being farmed or raised in aquaculture? Why not I wonder.

I'm from western Canada, routine isnt very big here. Something we have in Vancouver that I've never seen anywhere else is Japadog: it's a chain of hot dog stands that use high quality wieners topped with Japanese food toppings. It's super tasty.

Back in PH, we have Vikings. Around $19 USD

Nice and wide array of choices. Too many that you can't try everything on one go.

Meh. I'd need to sneak in a saltshaker and MSG just to get flavor on most of the food.

Hotpots are well seasoned though.

Rate it 7/10

Why do certain companies not actually know how to make their drinks not taste like spicey piss? Generic Monster tastes legitimately bad, so does generic Rockstar. Nos is bad.

It's only the fruit flavored ones that taste semi-decent. Why can't they get their shit together?
