That's exactly what I mean-to be in that kind of mental state is both fascinating and scary. I remember hearing that some of the people who inhabit abandoned mental institutions were former patients that never really left, just took up squatters position when the place became abandoned. I guess a combination of knowing the facility and being in a degraded mental state would make sense, but even so it's still very unnerving to think about

"If you and your friends on a corner on a street when a car comes shooting bullets and only one child yells out her true name, all will be safe. Even if bullets are tearing your skin, the Blue Lady makes them fall on the ground. She can talk to us, even without her name.
She says: 'Hold on.'"
A blond six-year-old with a bruise above his eye, swollen huge as a ruby egg and laced with black stitches, nods his head in affirmation.
"I've seen her," he murmurs. A rustle of whispered "Me too"s ripples through the small circle of initiates.

I'm not sure when I'm going back to my Grandfathers. Probably around June or September. And I'll be prepared to stay out there for several hours. I cant believe I made it all the way down there wearing vans. They were completely ruined after the hike, but still worth it. The town is called Ft. Thomas Kentucky and the forest-y areas in between the ridge and the river look like skin walker country.
