mainstream supernaturals sucks.
show them what real horror looks like

post the monster's general information on the comments with pics

The Tiyanak (also Tianak or Tianac[1]) is a vampiric creature in Philippine mythology that imitates the form of a child. It usually takes the form of a newborn baby and cries like one in the jungle to attract unwary travelers. Once it is picked up by the victim, it reverts to its true form and attacks the victim.[2] The tiyanak is also depicted to take malevolent delight in leading travelers astray,[3] or in abducting children.[4]

The man was a fucking genius
He knew suffering.
He knew loss.
He knew discipline.
He knew giving up hope.
He knew regaining it.
Reconquering it.
Died Penniless.
If there was anyone deserving of a fucking movie it is this man.

What is the best way to approach the various different vehicles and schools within Buddhism?

Whilst some are easy to disregard as corruptions ie Pure land buddhism or Bon how do you distinguish between the wheat and the chaff for the rest?

I see arguments for Therevada being the closets to the original teachings and eschewing secrecy however they also seem to have a bigger divide between their theory and practice.

I started with Zen. I recommend it, because it's a simple discipline. It's also possible to practice even if you are a strict follower of anotber religion.

Mahayana (Tibetan) and Vajrayana (Tantric) are both rich traditions worthy of study.

Get your head out of books, find a teacher and practice under them. Select a teacher based on individual merit instead of their adherence to a specific, pre-determined sect, and from there you can progress and then, once you've got a solid foundation in theory and practice, maybe seek out something more specifically in tune with your personal needs.

I am all that was, is, will be.

>Some useful tips before posting:
-If you're a reader post that you're offering readings and what information is required from the querent; same goes for trading.
-Look for their posts in the thread to determine if there's an active reader, what's needed and before posting, check if they finished reading already;
-Some readers will refuse to do certain readings - respect that choice.
-Bullshit queries will get bullshit answers;
-Making an air query (not addressing a reader in particular) is possible but doesn't guarantee an answer;
-Avoid making the same question over and over and/or to different readers in a short period of time, as this may lead to more confusion than clarification;
-Please refer to the Dream General threads for dream interpretation
-Provide feedback when applicable. We're a growing community, and many readers are starting.
Let's help each other to improve.

Respect your fellow readers and querents!

Hi /x/

This is my first time posting here, I'm not a religious or superstitious person and I didn't believe in the paranormal until recently. There have been a series of strange things going on in my apartment for the last week, things will be moved when I come back from the bathroom, i'll hear a tapping sound behind my head while i'm in bed and things will go missing only to be found in odd places. Up until last night I was excusing these things as my own doing as I'm a pretty forgetful person and I tend to have a very active imagination.

To cut a long story short, I was on my computer when I heard a bunch of loud pounding coming from directly below my chair, it sounded like someone was bashing a broom handle onto their ceiling. I live above a small family owned doughnut shop and this was at 3am when no one is around. I know the family very well and I know for a fact they aren't in there that late at night. As soon as the banging stopped my computer came to a crawl and everything was lagging like hell. I heard that unplugging a frozen computer will corrupt the hard drive so I let it sit for a while thinking that it would go back to normal. A few minutes later, it did and that's when I found this picture on my desktop "demise.png". I have no idea who this person is, and i'm freaked out that someone or something is watching me. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Sup /x/

Greentext me some of your nightmares. Please nothing made up, real nightmares will always be more terrifying than we can ever hope to invent.
I'll post a few of my own throughout the night as my mushroom trip wears off but I can't think of any specifically right now. Perhaps drawing parallels will jog my memory.
Anyway, feeling particularly wholesome and binging x files while I read these so I guess that's what it's comfy.
Pic unrelated unless you need /x/ approved comfy music.

>Except for the Jurassic Park symbol taking up most of the screen

>Thanks Rex pops out and I wake up

Scared the shit out of. I was in pre School or something, not sure my age. Will post actually spooky dreams later, but that one was spooky at the time.

Just to contribute to your thread, I can lucid pretty much at will, so I don't really have any nightmares per se. I usually let dreams go as they will because it's more entertaining that way tho.

Latest trippy one (I was sick) was I went to a hospital for a cold. A nurse was looking me in the eye and stapling into my arm while talking to me calmly, and I was talking back. After that I was driving back and picking staples out of my arm for the whole drive.

what does /x/ do when is lucid dreaming?
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
This one time i started lucid dreaming that i went back in time to 5th grade and i was trying to jump really high, and i got like 15 feet but i couldn't fly.

I always limit myself in some way, it isn't totally controllable
>>
I believe I had a lucid dream recently but it was a nightmare. I don't remember the actual nightmare, just that I was terrified. In the nightmare I realized I was in a dream and I tried to wake myself up. The next thing I remember I was in my room just the way it is in real life, I was laying on my back and observing myself from directly above me. realizing again I was still dreaming I began thrashing and screaming for my dad to wake me up knowing he was in the next room. This went on for a what seemed like a few seconds before I actually woke up. This was the worst nightmare I've had even though I don't remember what the dream was actually about before realizing I was in a dream. I've had what should be scarier dreams (like being chased by monsters etc) but the're usually scooby-do like scenarios that we're more fun than anything. I think this is the first nightmare I've actually had.
>>
I get lucid dreams of trying to fly, but mostly just end up gliding around and not really being able to maintain flight. Usually it's fun, but at the same time kind of annoying.

One prophecy from dream(s), though more so on a personal rather than a local or global level.

Though I prayed one time for help getting over my constant masturbation, lasted for 18 days. I feel like that counts.

there are multiple aps on android whith tips on how lucid dreams and alarms that serve as reality checks, but iveen using mantras to induce lucid dreams as well the most important thing to do first is to start writing down your dreams in a dream journal and read them everyday to reforce ur memory on dreams.
>>
Check whether you're dreaming til it becomes a habit
>>
>>18774923
Write down what you remember of your dreams in a journal. Something that works for me when I want to dream more is waking up, walking around a bit and then going back to sleep. If I can sleep for 2-3 hours after that, I usually wake up remembering at least one dream. Good luck, anon.

Errr guys, what's this?

Trying to sleep and I see this bright red star outside my window. It's not moving, it's never been there before, it's not attached to anything, and it's not any building.

A planet, perhaps?
A star?
A fucking red UFO right near my house?

What should I do?
