If I were you I'd just skip it and wait for the sequel, RDR's the story is good but you'd get more from watching Unforgiven, or any other good Western you've been meaning to watch.
The gameplay is poor with constant repetitious shoot-outs and the sidequests are incredibly shitty fetch-quests.

I've been listening to its soundtrack while revising and really like the dark synth vibe it's giving off and the pounding beats.

core gameplay is fine, but its a huge step down from the first game in every possible way.
Main character is now compleately diffirent whiny bitch in a battle for attention, over some old guy we know absolutely nothing about, while the MAIN storyline eventually has you collecting randomply scattered red floating orbs. Unnecessary skill tree that makes the game too annoying in the beginning and too easy in the end.
Personally I dont like the soundtrack either i think the first one is far superior.
