Did Dobson just leave his Switch on for 24 days, even while he was editing his video? Does the game's timer even run while it's paused? Did he just find somewhere safe to hide between play sessions?

If he only played it 7 times, that mean he only started it up on 7 separate occasions. So its fairly likely he just left the wii u on for that long. The Wii U does have an auto shutdown when its idle for like 30-40 minutes but its possible to turn that off.
