What happened to parody movies? When did they stop being popular and, most importantly, actually good?
>>87016752
Modern movies are already a joke without them needing to be parodied.
Scary Movie was the last good one. That Zucker slide into frivolity is what killed them.

Goldmember was good and came out in 2002
>It's ok when the whitewashing is done by a female director
>What the HELL are you doing you motherfukers?!
Seriously, Rowling? This guy is supposed to be a respected and understanding headmaster, and this is how he talks to his students?
>>87016704
Read the books. In Goblet of Fire, there's a passage where he strikes a student for wandering the hallways during class hours and he was caught not paying the house elves any gold.
Mcgonnagol even went as far as to send a letter to the ministry with her concerns over Dumbledore but the owl she sent was later found burned on the hogwarts grounds, presumably dumbledores pet phoenix incenerated it.

>leaves a one year old on a doorstep overnight
>imagine being in the dullest franchise in the history of movie franchises. Seriously each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others whlist ypu study alone. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
>Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at your time in the books would be good though
"Kill me!"
>The writing is dreadful; the book was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a walk, the author wrote instead that the character "stretched his legs."
>I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.
WTF Rowling?? You wrote this series!
What did post Rick and Morty bumper mean by this?
>>87016689
It was an absolutely brutal jab at how shit GoT has become. Season 3 R+M is full of amazing stuff like this.
Wtf I love Rick and Morty now
>>87016689

I bet you think the most important thing of it was the plot and the mysteries, like a pleb!

Reminder that the original doesn't hold up,and is just as stupid as the movie.
I remember it being good, but watching clips like this "I might accidentally picture and kill a pop star!" prove otherwise, it doesn't hold up at all.

One of those movies you can watch back to back and never get tired of.

Yeah I agree. This and Re-Animator are fantastic.
>>87016478
I liked it. It's a pretty good horror movie. Plus it gave me a boner.
Isn't it obvious?
Dothraki and Essos - Muslims and Asians
Andals and Westeros - Anglos and Euros
Wildlings and North - Slavs and Eastern Europe
White Walkers - Africans
