First-time figure buyer here.
I recently preordered pic related (Parfom Aigis, in case you're wondering) and it says on AmiAmi that she'll be in stock "February 2016".
The question I have is: When exactly in February?
Does GSC usually send them out to stores early or later in the month?

I assume AmiAmi will get them, request payment and send as soon as payment is confirmed but correct me if I fucked up.

Release date varies, go check GSC's website and see if they mention a specific date.

And yes, Amiami will do that.
>>

No, just a big old February/2016.
The wait's been weighing on me since September.
Thanks regardless, senpai

GSC releases specific dates as they go. Go to their website, you should see posts for releases in January right now.

Also I've not been very impressed by Parfom. I got Yuudachi and while her accessory count is fantastic, her articulation, isn't so much. She has balljoints for wrist, ankles, and worst of all the head. And they all have piss poor range of movement. On top of that the knees can barely do a 90 degree bend.

Does anyone know anything about this particular pooh plush? Year of manufacture, country of manufacture, etc.

I think it's from the early 90s but not entirely sure. Any info or links to info would help

why not?

Best way to find info on it is to look for a tag on the Pooh that tells you who made it and when.

Even then stuffed animals tend not to be collected and preserved by their mostly young owners so finding something 20 years old is going to be damn near impossible.

I got so drunk last night I went out and purchased a Harry, a Marv, and a Jason Vorhees.

Yeah they're NECA, but now I have to return them all because I'm broke.

What's the worst that you've done for a piece of plastic?

The worst thing I have done for a toy was stealing. When I was a kid my family and I went to the beach. There was this little girl there who had these Muppet toys and I really liked her Kermit the frog toy. I made friends with her and we played with her toys but while she wasn't looking I buried it. I help her look for it but she had to go home. I then went to the spot and claimed my treasure.

Hey guys, I thought I'd ask some /toy/ experts about this. I'd been wondering who makes the most realistic and flexible action figures on the market. I could use one to help me figure out poses for drawing, and it'll be good to have a 3d model instead of working from photos. And I don't exactly have the funds to hire a live model every day.

I'm really looking for flexibility and affordability. I don't need it to be a blank mannequin, necessarily. Any character would do. But good muscle definition would be a plus.

I have considered the Armature 9 figures, which look pretty fantastic and have a lot of different parts. It's got a poseable thumb which is rad as hell. The only real problem is that it's 190 bucks and doesn't really have any muscle detail anywhere. It's a fantastic skeleton though.

The Figuarts blanks are nice but figma is releasing a 2.0 of their archetype blanks pretty soon.
Might be able to find the reissues of the first version for a decent price somewhere.

Anyone on here have experience with the mcfarlane akira figures? I don't know anything really about mcfarlane other then they have pretty shitty figures. I want akira figures but the only other options are the RAH ones which are stupid as fuck expensive.

I meant shitty articulation.
>>
They're products of their time, so the sculpts will look less crisp compared to modern figures or statues, but for the $20-30 price range, you're getting a decent looking representation of the character. Kaneda's bike is probably the one that has aged the best out of all of them, but the statues themselves are pretty decent even by today's standards. I'd say go for it if you don't mind a static figure.

hi /toy/

What is your best all-around action figure? What would you recommend? My criteria are as follows:
>durable - not going to break by accident
>value - affordable or you get a lot for your money
>great articulation
>great sculpt
>can stand and pose easily
>bonus: i own a cat so ideally it won't have a lot of loose parts or small accessories, in case the cat knocks it down

A few 3.75 inch GI Joes that don't need accessories come to mind. A ToyWiz Deadpool I owned as a kid comes to mind. But what does /toy/ recommend? I've been out of the loop

Classics Prime. Although I don't know if it's affordable right now.

Shodo Vs is pretty sweet right now. They're VERY posable and by virtue of their size/lightness, aren't too dainty, unless you a) have ham hands or b) you have a kid who likes to throw toys at walls. They get a lot of points for being cheap, especially if you split a case with someone.

OR, a Figuarts or Figma off Mandy. Provided you don't care about the source material and just want a good toy, you can get something that's middle/high end for as little as under 1K yen.

DEATH IS THE ONLY WAY OUT.

>Affordable
>Great sculpt and paint
>Great articulation
>Includes multi-jointed stand
>Tons of great accessories
>Speech bubbles
>Heavy-duty ziplock bag to keep all the extras safely in one place
>It's a fucking ninja

One of the neatest figures I've spent money on recently.

Maybe an SAS? When they're on point, they're some of the best things you can buy for 4000JPY or less. The young Joseph Joestar SAS is pretty much universally beloved by any who have bought it.

Those of you just joining us, please read this guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.

For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

First time painter here and I'm trying to decide on a matte finish spray to go with. I know you guys tend to recommend Tamiya for everything, but I've found the Testor's version of the same thing for half the price and a week shipping time as opposed to 3 months. Would it work or should I go with a higher end option?

It'll work but won't be as good quality. imo mr super clear is the best top coat but that's just me

Nothing triggers me more than people putting their figures in front of a TV. Might as well put them in front of a fucking window.

It's not like they're blocking the viewing screen and TVs really don't give off anything harmful except for heat, and most flatscreens today don't produce enough to cause damage.
