Hey, everyone. It's been a while, hasn't it? I hope 2016 is off to a good start for you! Now that the holidays are over and life has settled down a bit, I thought it might be a good time to build together.
Tonight's set comes from a new player in the interlocking building block game: Kids Create, a sub-line of the confusingly-named brand Papercraft. Although there are no catalog numbers or set names, there were two other sets being sold at Family Dollar under the "Star Riders" theme.

Those of you just joining us, please read this guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "Plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model." If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.

Group Build
So, to reiterate, for this group build
Primary: white
Secondary: purple or pink (or both, fuck it)
Trim: gold
Due date: February 1st.
Email: [email protected]
Don't forget about the lineart in the OP.
I posted this on /m/ but I'm getting less than helpful comments
Help! I just bought an MG Hyaku Shiki ver2.0! I tried shaving the nubs like usual using a sandpaper (low grit then finishing with high grit) but I kept shaving off the gold plate instead! Help! I don't like nub marks on my gunpla, looks like a peasant just built it!
>>5404228
Hyaku Shiki is under-gated, non of the nubs should be visible or terribly obvious. Unless you go crazy on the sandpaper you should be fine, I'd recommend just knifing the nubs away for minimal impact anyways

Once again mixing and matching the retail and the WF will be necessary to achieve the best look. Goddamnit, Medicos.
So, anyone else around here dabble with Azone's 1/12 stuff?

The newer releases are using a new upgraded body that has better articulation than MMS (pretty much the same + one more point in the torso)
Why is the Assault Lily line so expensive?
>>5364219
If you break the contents of one set to the individual costs
Piconeemo body- 1700 yen
Regular clothes- 3500 yen
Boots- 1500 (yes those things cost this much)
Weapons- Around 2000 yen at events
That's already 8700 yen and isn't counting the unique heads (a 1/12 garage kit head can set you back 1000-3000 and requires assembly and painting) and battle clothes (not sold separately AFAIK but most clothes like that cost around 2000).
So yeah you're actually getting a pretty damn lot for around 9000 yen.
If you're talking about places charging more than that, well, they're limited runs due to being a niche product and thus you get scalpers.
Could somebody who has this guy tell me if its good or not?
I have the olive drab version, yes it's good. It's around 4.9" tall and is like a giant compared to certain 1/18th figures, but not 100% unrealistic like a roided up bodybuilder eating HGH biscuits.
>>5411623
Big boss is supposed to be 6'3 which is kinda tall so its about right.

Yes.

Where do I buy this pepsiman variant with the clear caramel colored plastic? I can't find him on ebay or on amazon
>>5409817
He's called The Fuct of Pepsiman, and he's a very rare version of that figure.
If you're searching for him, then welcome to the hunt and good luck... you'll need it.
>>5409823
is that the one thats supposed to smell like pepsi?
>>5409826
yea
I want to put this figure's head on something else, but I don't know of anything in a similar scale that has the same kind of ball-jointed head/neck. This is the best I can do to convey it's size. What would work? I can put her on some Gundam kits, but their joints are a bit small so it's not a great fit. Is there anything sorta like CORPS that has this type of neck? Any help will be much appreciated!
Have you any suggestions?
G.I. Joe, Marvel Universe/Infinite, and Star Wars are all close to that size and use similar neck/head joints.
>>5407952
Are there any decent female bases? I tried to find ball jointed neck having lady joes on ebay but I've had a difficult time.

So anyone have the old Lego Magazine/Brickmaster issue with a comic featuring these 4? I've been trying to track it down but to no avail.
It was pretty basic but showed off the sets in a way that gave some level of sense to the oddly designed catapult builds.

Who here misses Mcfarlane's Movie Maniacs and Neca's Cult Classics?
What are the substitutes for the horror movie fan
>>5406869
If you have the money there are some decent 1/6 figures floating around, if not NECA are still sometimes doing the horror characters. They just released 2 versions of Freddy Krueger so they're still doing some.
The thing that I liked about Movie Maniacs is that they were in a time before I really kept up with toy releases so the assortments were usually a surprise, it was nice to see a movie I wanted toys from show up in the new line up. I used to buy them at a Babbages in the mall, back before Gamestop took them over or at least before they fell in line with the Gamestop business model. It was across from a Cinnabon, to this day I can't pass a Cinnabon without thinking of looking at awesome late 90s toys.
Neca just released a Leatherface, though I think the McFarlane version looks better.
Does anyone know what this is from?
Looks like a hat from a stoner convention or something
>>5402911
I think it's a Digimon hat.
IDK why it kinda reminds me of mannoroth from Warcraft III otherwise it looks kinda lovecraft-ish

Collect anything other than toys?
I got a little bit into the disney pin thing recently.
I have a small video games collection (maybe like 60 games) that I only started 3 years ago. Also a decent manga one with about 1400 books.
