Well, we got two games going after it, and I'm happy to say I love the system. It's pleasantly simple in practice and I love how easy it is to get your character to perform wild or interesting maneuvers in action scenes.

Six hour Session, and still ends on a cliffhanger Edition
This is a thread for discussing Monsters and Other Childish Things, Wild Talents, Reign and any other games built on Greg Stolze's One Roll Engine.

Roll some d10s. Find matches. The number of matching dice is your Width. The number ON the dice is your Height. So a Set of [5,5,5] has a Width of 3 and a Height of 5, written as 3x5. That's it. Width and Height tell you a lot about your action, such as how fast it was, how strong it was, how precise it was, etc. Everything in the system is built around this fast, simple mechanic.

One of the campaigns started today. Players and dm were rusty on the rules, but the first tutorial fight went by in two turns. The fight was very one sided. Four 7d minor shadows didnt even scratch the party.
There was also confusion caused by oldwr versions of the Moct book with different rules.
The Area extra seems broken as fuck though. Especially when combined with spray.

I see it as a recurring design style, similar to the Klingon BoP. And yes, I know the B'rel was originally intended to be a Romulan design.
The aesthetic is certainly much more in line with the TNG-era Romulan designs and I think the ship makes more sense there than in Enterprise, but I do feel like the Romulans hav probably had dozens of iterations of this particular type of ship. Just like the Klingons have have had different D-series and BoPs and Starfleet has an eternal saucer fixation.
Having a simpler but recogniseable design would have been nice. Maybe a flimsier version of the T'liss. But i doubt UPN would have sprung for it.

Wouldn't it make sense for early Romulan ships to have a passing similarity to Vulcan ships? Maybe an almost vestigial ring assembly giving way to close-fitted nacelles.

It's more interesting to the Character's development to help them and then figure out why he would help them in the first place?
Alignment is what they would do.
Morality is what they should do.
Character development is what they actually did.

If you can't find a reason for your character to work with the rest of the party in a co-operative roleplaying game then you're playing the wrong character.
